We also cooked 3 full briskets on saturday night; we will NOT run out of chili this year!

Thanks for posting the pics, B.; I was too busy to take any. Also, Mrs. Beez's new scoot is a thing of beauty!

Some of you may remember David from the first or second CroMag, I can't remember which one at the moment. He arrived for dinner with his riding partner Larry on a couple of very nice R100 Adventures. When you are riding along route 100 and you see the motorcycle frame on the stump, that was his shop across the street. Wish I could say I was in, but that is a real busy weekend for me hosting a festival. Should be a good time with some cool iron around. Even if you don't fly a propeller.

When I edit my page it does not have that in the corner. In fact I don't see it here on this page.

Good shape. I walked out of there with a six pack of Corona, a six pack of Long Trail, and a six pack of Sam Adams.

well, ok, a five pack of Sam Adams

    :hide

Girl at the counter said they opened 5/1. Deli was up and running, place is open normal business hours, and they have pretty much everything they ever did.

    Woo Hoo!

I saw a news article on TV this weekend about them re-opening the store.

Very pleased. For the town, the locals ... us. :1drink

I told my wife: That's the magic store that makes Cromag ... "complete"

    :D

    Newsletter #14
The Barnard General Store has reopended! It is the event that we have all been waiting for.

Hours are 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 8-6 p.m. on Sunday. (I wonder if we could get them to open earlier on CroMag weekend.)

For those who live in the Barnard area and have had the chance to visit the store, the experience has certainly been a positive one. For those who have yet to make it to the store, you have a treat waiting for you.

When you walk in the front door of the store, you get an immediate feeling that you are in a space that is inviting to do business in, whether it is to do your grocery shopping or get your morning coffee or purchase a freshly made sandwich for lunch at the deli. If you like to buy nuts, oats, granola, organic flour, organic cane sugar, dried fruits and nutritional yeast in bulk, then the BGS is the place to shop. The good selection of produce is fresh and nicely displayed. Also available for your shopping pleasure is a good selection of general grocery items, dairy needs, household necessities, fresh meats and fish and beverages including wine and beer, sodas, juices, etc. It is difficult to list all the things that Joe and Jillian have managed to offer our community.

Jillian and Joe offer hot foods until 3 p.m., including grilled burgers, and French fries. They will make sandwiches until closing. They have daily lunch specials always changing and based on their inspiration for the day. The breakfast menu is simple, with egg sandwiches, muffins and baked goods available.

The bar stools at the counter have been redone which will provide a more comfortable seating option to enjoy your favorite meal or ice cream treat. Of course there are the accustomed tables and chairs for those who prefer.

On June 1st, at 11 o’clock AM, there will be a celebration, organized by the BCT, to celebrate what we have all been working toward for so many months. We would like to invite any and all who would like to celebrate with us to join Joe and Jillian, the BCT board and the governor of Vermont, Peter Shumlin to join us on that special day.

On behalf of the Barnard community, we thank all those who have helped us achieve what we have today. We invite everyone to join in the continued effort to “Support the Store”. There is still much fundraising to do before we reach our financial goal.

Greg I'm sorry I didn't let you know I was coming through- it was a last-minute, suddenly found myself with an extra half-hour deal or I would have given you a heads-up

I asked if they would be open to the idea of being open earlier on the Sunday when CroMaggots were heading out...
They are open to it, but HOW early?
    7:00 a.m.?
    6:00 a.m.?

    Chime in!
