47. Born 1964 came home from hospital in my dads sidecar, went every where in it until I was 18 then got my own outfit. Had one ever since, (6 in total). The wife had her own at 38 (should I have said that?) and is on her 2nd outfit now.
Ok, I'll bump up the average. I'm 63, been hackin 36 yrs. Tell your friends it takes more skill to ride 3 wheels vs 2.
72 years old been riding54 years so far and still enjoy every ride even the crap one,s are good once you get back home.
I'll be 63 next month, been riding for 50 years if you count the mini & dirt bikes. A few years bikeless due to marraige & kid! 2 weeks with this rig, about a year with the one I had 30 years ago.
48. Bought my hack last fall. My 11 yo son loves it. Looking forward to some camping trips with him this summer.
I got a Harley FLX with a Ultra TLC sidecar 3 years ago , to ride in winter weather , however I enjoy the sidecar more then the regular 2 wheeler...Oh i almost forgot , I was born in 1947 , lets see , aged 65 in April , Ride on Inmates...
Two questions for you sidecar freaks. How do you manage sidewinds? Remember having seen a Ural with sidecar gone off the road and downhill at a tunnel exit in the route from Santiago to Mendoza. And, why don't you just get a car if you are taking the best part of motorcycling out of your experience?
Okay .... question #1: "How do you manage sidewinds? Remember having seen a Ural with sidecar gone off the road and downhill at a tunnel exit in the route from Santiago to Mendoza" Just steer into the wind just like on any other two track vehicle. I could be wrong but kind of doubt if the wind alone blew that URAL off the road. POrobably the wind hit him when he came out of the tunnel but he shouldhave been able to correct for it.Either way too bad. question#2 And, why don't you just get a car if you are taking the best part of motorcycling out of your experience?[/ Hmmmm....Got a car and it's okay in a pinch Uh like solo bikes also.Always have and always will. Also like sidecars a lot. A sidecar outfit is not a motorcycle any more. It is a sidecar outfit. The sidecar experience is altogether different and a lot of fun. Sounds like you ain't been where we are but almost all here have been where you are. You have not experienced the sidecar world it seems but we have and many here still do experience the motorcycling world. We didn't take anything out of the mootorcycling experience as you put it but put something new in. Maybe you might want to try it sometime.
Every hack driver of account I've known had plenty of two-wheel experience. For example, the late Bobby Pike, aka "Ancient Bob" had ridden it all and been everywhere, man. The last time I saw him ride was on a fine summer day on his '28 Harley with the hack he made from scratch. He was grinnin' in his 1950's Schotts. Hacking is a different challenge. The motorcycle experience is all there.
