I'm glad I'm not alone in the "Let's Spend Big Bucks on Tanks This Week" group... just wrote a hefty check to CJ for a black set. Hopefully, by the time they get here and I get 'em on the bike, I'll be able to afford to fill 'em up; looks like we're in for another pricey summer at the pump.

The nice thing is that when you come across a good price on fuel you can get a LOT of it.

    Nice Qwik!

Question for you Aquiline SuperTanker guys: Can you only fill up to the cap and the tank volume above the fill caps goes to waste or maybe needed for expansion space? I wondered why they didn't put the fill caps higher?

Clearance issues with the bars maybe? I have about 1.75 inches of rise on my bars

    It's a good question.
For one, it's very narrow. I'm not sure how much space is lost. Surely a gallon between both (or about)

Maybe when we go downhill ... The poor little gas needs room to move :rofl

Strong possibility. Yet, I wouldn't have a clearance issue with mine.

    Maybe for short people :eek1:lol3

Did Qwik snag your spare set? I'm jealous... my order for a black set is stuck in the Australian holding pattern from hell :lol3

Yes, Qwik attacked me and didn't leave me any options.. His left side kick is Qwik.

So, I shed some tears and he took off with them in his truck...

When are yours coming in? Have a date yet?

Tip: lightly countersink the tank side of the plates' holes before you remount the plate. The threaded inserts in the tank sit slightly proud and can prevent good pressure on tightening.

I figured expansion space would be important

When I originally put my tanks on, the stock bars were set pretty low, even with KTM risers.
I was real close to smacking the caps at full lock.
    My Scott's damper changed that.

Let's just say a part of me is wishing I'd have bugged you till you got 'em boxed up and shipped to me before Qwik got his hands on them! LOL

Don't wanna bitch and complain too much till the details get sorted... will keep you posted :evil

Some things I have noticed, the entire tank lights up with the blinker. You are VISIBLE. They go on easier than the stock setup. They feel better than stock when you are riding standing up (You were right Bikyto) don't know what it is but more comfy. Aand the look on peoples faces when you put more in fuel your bike than they put in their car.:evil tends to make you do this with the cost of fuel:cry

I love pulling up and parking next to a flock of harleys.

"Holy shit that thing is huge" is the common reaction as the lowest point on my bike is higher than the tallest point on their's.

"Your little bikes are adorable!" is a good response if they're posers :rofl

I completely agree. Even while sitting, my knees grip better of the rough stuff.
I rode a stock-tanked 990 after having my Safaris on for 12k miles,
and I was suprised how uneasy it felt not to have that extra wide knee grip.

Love that look !! And the station attendant is always amazed

You didn't have to bug me, you had dibs so they were ready. But oh well, that's in the past. You'll be happy with your choice of color. Hope they come in soon.

Plus Qwik attacked me... Didn't I mention that :lol3
