    Firmware update 3.80 is out
    Use webupdater to install

Changes made from version 3.30 to 3.80:

    * Add support for African Time zones.
    * Add support for several new pre-recorded voices.
    * Add support for distances in yards when a British voice is selected (may require updated voice).
    * Added support for MAD Maps scenic routes.
    * Allow the compass page to display 5 digits of elevation.
    * Improved handling of circular routes. Allows entry at alternate point. Will not announce arrival when starting a route. (All routes will be deleted after update, but can be re-imported from GPX files.)
    * Keep the map detail level when go from main map to browse map.
    * When reviewing a gas station after pressing the fuel button from main map, the map will now be centered on selected gas station rather than the vehicle.
    * Change Optimal Reorder so it does not include the final point when reordering.
    * Correct issue where backlight may change if you remain on the backlight adjust page for a period of time.
    * Correct issue where backlight may turn off when location is above polar circle.
    * Correct issue that would sometimes cause highways to be labeled with the incorrect name.
    * Correct issue that would not allow more than a single point to be added to some routes.
    * Correct issues when the same map is loaded in two different regions.
    * Correct issue when searching for cities on basemap.
    * Correct off road transitions in track to route when there is no map coverage.
    * Correct issue playing Audible format 4 books.
    * Correct distance for mixed routes imported from MapSource
    * Correct issue that caused all traffic delays to be 1min when using certain maps.
    * Correct issue that prevented TrafficMaster service from being properly named on the unit.
    * Correct issue that prevented some very large track log activities from being archived correctly.
    * Correct issue where changes to a route would be lost if you press and hold the back button.
    * Correct issue that caused MP3?s to be paused for navigation announcements when navigation was set to off and a pre-recorded voice was selected.

    Caution

Import all your routes from your Zumo into Mapsource before you do this update. All internal routes will be deleted by the update.

    Nope..

But the REAL zumo now has a new feature:
Check out "Avoidences" and you will find "Autobahn"

In Europe this setting is (finaly) working to avoid what we call highways.
I am very curious what this setting does on American roads.

Anyone want to find out for us??

No big deal because it will save everything to GPX - unless you bother it - when you connect the USB cable before the update. After the updates, the first thing it asks is if you want reload the data. (Manage Data?)

Any idea of who to talk to for an update that allows you to see the lat/long for you current position or for other points? If this can be done already...how? Sorry if it's sort of highjack but thanks for all the info!:thumb

Check out www.zumoforums.com for all your off topic questions :rofl

The answer is: If you tab on your vehicle, the current position (including lat/long) can be saved as a favorite.

It's a left-handed way to do it but for current position Menu->Where To->Coordinates

There is more than the 3.80 update. If you use the webupdater, you will also find that there is Bluetooth firmware update, a GPS firmware update and one for the GTM-xx's.

    Bluetooth updates:

Changes from version 2.40 to version 3.00:
Improved Bluetooth support for various phones
Fixed a Motorola call waiting issue
    Improved phone ring-tone support
New special pairing mode for some phonebooks

This is awesome - avoidances now has "Interstates" as a selectable thing to avoid :rayof :wings

Update. I have had it calculate a couple long routes that I have made quite a bit, and it's the closes a GPS has ever come to the way I prefer to go without tweaking :clap

Now they need to add the avoid interstate feature to Mapsource - that would be simple and make life so much easier.

I'm sure it works fine, since it is pretty much the same unit.

..But then again: So are the BMW / Honda Zumo's..

If it doesn't work. It doesnt' do the update either. No harm done. And you can roll back as well.

Cool, that explains why there is no mention of the 450 in the updates.

My guess is that the 400 /450 models were short lived. They are allready out of sales in the Netherlands. Most people buy the 500/550 anyway (aperently).
