    Mission failure, I jinxed myself.

I got to the first tag spot, but there was a wedding happening so I didn't have any opportunity to make the drop unobserved. The heat proved too much for the Uly's electrics, and she wouldn't start again (dark dash). After about an hour of cool down while trying to find the damaged wires I was able to get her started again, but decided it was better to head home rather than risk getting stranded on a hot holiday weekend.

Mr. Egg has found his new home.

I didn't want to make Egg and Nutzy suffer through another day at the office, so we all got up extra early this morning to hit the road. The sky was just starting to get light as we wheeled out of the garage, so instead of heading inland, we rode out to the ocean to watch the sunrise. The camera in my phone sucks, so I didn't bother trying to take pictures.

The breeze off the water was so nice we decided to head up the coast instead of going to the drop site we had planned for, which turned out to be the right call. Beautiful weather, beautiful views, zero traffic. The roads aren't terribly exciting, but you can't have everything--where would you keep it?

    On to the tag!

    First, go here:

    Then, get the tag shot:

See that fence off to the left in the tag photo? Here's another angle:

See Nutzy sitting there at the top of the fence post?

Mr. Egg has set up camp in the growth just behind that post:

<a href="http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=575994&page=79">Nutzy</a> also found a new home today, but the battery on my phone ran out before all of the photos finished uploading, so it'll be a little while before I can get that post up.

    Game on!

PS: For those that are curious about the state of the egg (several of you have asked), and the swag he is travelling with, we took a <a href="http://www.smartestmonkeys.com/gallery/v/moto/Tag-O-Rama/Mr.+Egg/">few pictures</a>. It was interesting to see the changes over the last few years!

I thought this thing was kicking around the Gulf States. Got a tad shut down for a ride when Massachusetts came up on the google maps. oh well

Heh. I never made it further South than TN/NC on this trip. Sorry to disappoint, I guess you'll just have to take a longer ride than you planned to pick him up! :deal

Nutzy is for someone else to grab. I will head out tomorrow to place Eggy in a new spot.

Incidentally, while I was at Plum Island uploading, a pickup truck pulled into the driveway of the town garage where the tag photo was taken from. In the back was a motorcycle. Two guys unloaded it. One fired it up and rode over to say hi.

They mount tanks to the back along with a large "wand" and ride around the marshes to spray (for mosquitoes, perhaps? I had my earplugs back in by that time and wasn't sure what he was talking about.)

I want one. What a hoot.

You can store fuel in the wheels too. I rode one last year, and it was a blast. It's like the tractor of the motorcycle world. It isn't fast, but you can have so much fun. :evil

What do you think I do when I deploy, work? Nope. My networks and satcom shots don't break, so I read about motorcycles all day. :D

Got there right as they closed, so will visit the museum and farm tomorrow.

Eggy is in the rocks in the front left corner of the sign. Disassemble to find him and reassemble so that it look undisturbed, please.

Bonded with it today.:feelgood 400 + miles. Took Eggy out to lunch...

...then couldn't resist the 'Gap' roads over in Vermont. Plus, there were 2 other tags to snag over there today. Eggy and I had a busy day of riding.

Anyhoo, on with the new tag...

    Money shot:

    Sorry. It was getting dark.

    Where's Eggy? Across the road...

...see the garden? Left side, towards the rear of that stone sticking up in it...

All the trinkets were sprinkled among the day lilies.

No. Not really. But there's a truckload of them.:huh
