    Think Think Think...

    Here's an idea.

Let's use some poor noon-profit group and have THEM go dig it up.

Maybe some bunch of folks are having a 2008 River Clean-Up day. Maybe a company that just got slugged with an enormus fine for soiling something or other is looking for a cleanup project for some positive media exposure.

Any Marine Archaelogy college programs in England? This could be a 100-level course for them.

Or just throw a group of Boy Scouts and shovels at it. :D

I wasn't sure where to put this, I just dont want the buried sidecar to be forgotten. Someone go dig it up!
I've been here, yes standing on top of it. If ya rap on the top it echo's just like its full of sidecars.
This is a buried boxcar about 100 yards off the tracks buried in a riverbed.
The sliding door is still closed.

Wow, in November we rode through there (Afton Canyon, half way between Las Vegas and Los Angeles) and didn't even see it. Probably rode right over the top of it. Here's a photo about 3 miles West of that point, out of the wash. And here's a MAP to your coordinates. That's a great place to go on an ADV hack, if you like sand washes.

Soon the river will be frozen over so when are you planning on retrieving the Sunken Sidecar of Doom?

At this point, it deserves to be saved so it can rust and rot away in someone's yard. I miss my Rover and it's 9000# winch right about now...

Going on 4 months now.. if this were in the states, this thread would have lasted 4 minutes before someone nabbed the thing.
