Croakers Spot has some Richmond history to it so I'm told....famous for a fried fish basket, grits and large portions kinda thing...Yelp rates it 4 stars and I agree but its not Mr.Submarine prices either....I'm a Yankee so me saying its good down home southern cookin' doesn't go along way but I haven't heard bad things and would certainly go back.

Back to crab cakes....I went to a SMIB RTE and we went to this place on the water that had absolutely HUGE crab cake balls if you will :lol3 watch out Lobsta' roll..........

Since I worked in the area of where we were today for almost 20 years, I visited a lot of places in the area.

I mentioned this to Teeter today, just up the street is a Chinese restaurant called Hunan East. They have a lunch buffet that is to die for. I probably ate there 3-4 times a month when I worked around there.

Not seafood, but just another suggestion.

We need a name for this RTE herd. Galloping Gourmet(s) has already been taken.......... :rofl

+1 Croaker Spot. Ridiculous volume of food. The platter could have fed four.

YES! I want to go! Anybody else want in? It will be full by Sunday morning! :ear

Of course, we could round up some Richmond ADV'ers and have our own overnight camping trip somewhere else for a lot less than $135/person! I would prefer this!

Brenda was lamenting today that we don't have a cool name and a patch/decal. SMIBs, Cat Herders, BWDR, etc. And we got nutin'. :-) Any graphics artists/marketeers among us wanna come up with our own cool logo? Make the rest of the area drool with envy?

Maybe whatever name Guy comes up with for the lunch gang? (No pressure, Guy, but the name needs to be great. LOL)

I'm sorry but, I have paid for the S500 many times in the past....I joined the AMA just to participate....the price this year is just too much for me....let the out of town-ers pay to play, a majority of those roads are open to the public plus, I know locals which can guide me to bigger & better and less crowded..............that being said, if you've never been go for it! :ricky
It will introduce you to a great bunch of riders and some awesome terrain...it is just a been there, done that, for me...:1drink

The cat herders camp out took me to Long run rd & Vepco Rd this past weekend.....pic from the S500 2010....rode the 990....same place no price....

I wanted to do the 500 this year and then a family obligation in the form of wedding type activities filled that date. But I'd go back and ride those roads the 500 takes in. I think I can find most of them.

Actually I'm riding the 990 out that way this morning. The is a bicycle race in the Mt. Solon area and some friends wanted help running a relief station. Apparently we are camping at the old C and W Stokesville depot right there by the iron bridge over the river. Should be fun.

I love love love the Croaker Spot.. I'm in!

I've never been, but always hear poor reviews of Byrams (under both old and new management)

I found my nut. My wife had it the whole time! No.. The zip tie worked until I got home and found a new one. I was thinking though.. Why didn't I just remove part of the assembly on that side before riding away? It doesn't really do anything once the axle is tight.
