Dave, Not entirely sure what you're asking. If seating the bead is the issue: If you've got a heavy duty ratcheting tie-down, wrap it around the circumference of the tire and tighten it up to preload the sidewalls before you add air. If you're just talking about getting the tire over the rim: Lots of lube and big irons. Anything there you can use?
Dr, I used 2 8" C clamps on mine to get it on once i had the tube in. Before that f'in impossible, put the the 2 c clamps on and 3 spoons, it was on in minutes. I wouldn't say a piece of cake, but it was alot easier than the 3 of us at your place a couple weeks ago, and i was by myself. Of course it helped that the sidewalls on that rear are cracked all to sht, made it easier than your new tire. I'll come down later this weekend and give you a hand if you need one, or bring it on friday. Good luck.
Done and ready to roll . 4 -6" C clamps and a hand from Jr to swing the 4 irons and it looks like we got it. My liners may be a bit wide and that added to the struggle. It was even tougher than my Supermotos. I'm still going to make some changes to shorten up the gear ratio but I think we're ready to go during the holidays. What are you saying about the ice there RobbieO? Or is the snow to deep to find it?
It used to be a suspended, two slip boathouse, until the weight of the snow collapsed it and it broke through the ice...... Here's another from the same winter...
Bike will be finished tonight and Moondoggie fixed the big trailer. Get better and get shovelling. This weather is not helping that's for sure. Half the people I know are sick and the other half won't go outside cause it's to cold. Can you get a machine on the ice or is it quads and snowblowers. feels like an iceage, lookin for an icerage drcool
If we can get a decent access to the lake I can always bring up the plow truck (now fixed)(again)(for the third time this week) and make you boys a crash course
You guys interested in loading up the ice bikes, heading up to my cottage for a weekend? Get a couple more FF's with sleds and maybe a couple atvs... Only for support...
SOOO, just sayin this were possible......we need a plow truck to clear, where do we access the lake and how much beer do we need? When the tourista stop falling through the ice this season we should be ready to go. Not much chance of adults only though. My boy is jonesin as bad as the rest of us. Anyone know when the next iceage starts? I hate Christmas Thaw drcool
Count me in on the plow truck, after the thaw my driveway has turned into a skating ring(literally), yall welcome to come and try your setups before it snows again.
No, no, no. Christmas thaw works in our favour to clear offending snow from lakes and leave a perfect ice surface if the refreeze is timed right. Christmas '82 Lake Nippissing was a 45 mile long ice rink and my 250 Can-Am ran rings around snowmobiles (they couldn't run on the ice without melting some plastic runner thingie on their suspension). Snowmobiles are dumb.
I'm drilling first thing tomorrow morning. If there's a minimum of 6" of good ice......I'm making some quick phone calls then RIPPIN' Felling a little better......not dead yet, Robbie O.
Buddy I hope you're right! Enough fixin it's sounds like it's time to shread Lake Joe eh? Thick like ice? drcool
It may take a little organizing but we did take care of jr's lack of gear today. I need to do some time in the office in the morning but the batphone is definitely on. I hear you're still thawing tomorrow but the rest of the week appears favorable It's not how you feel, it's how you look drcool
