Interesting choice, Paul. If we didn't know you so well, we'd have to wonder if that's a compliment to an engineer. Nothing straight, nothing parallel, and that "what the F is that?" sense.
Actually, as an engineer myself, I contemplated that exact thought as I wrote it. Raphael? Calder? Probably DaVinci fits best, but it just didn't roll off the tongue as well!
Stinkin great. One day I hope to be able to afford something like this! Gonna have to sell some more bike tours first though! Everything looks awesome on it. Hoping you guys get alot of interest and sales out of this!
Hi Chris, I am on the verge of buying either a 2012 KTM 500 XC-W or an EXC. Or maybe a used 530 or 450 that will fit your kit. I am very intersted in your fine product. Do you have plans for making a production run for the new 500's? I want the bike to be street legal in Colorado, so I don't know which bike would be a better choice. I think I'd prefer to start with the XC-W and make it street legal if that makes sense. Your thoughts I'm itching to get started, my 950 Adventure is a handfull (to say the least) on gnarly single track and I'm interested in getting into Rally type racing.
Hello C-Dub, Nothing will be announced officially until we sell all of the current kits. **7 of the 10 are left folks!!!! As on the website, kits currently fit 08-10 KTM 400, 450, 505 & 530. I will have the frames available to fit the 2011s in the coming month. The 2011 will be included in the limited run of 10.
Hello c.v. Thanks for the response, I think I'm going to see if I can save around 5K by finding a good used 450 or 530. In your opinion should I get an EXC or buy and XC-W and get it plated? By the way, I'm new here in CO and I'm looking for someone to ride with with local knowledge. I have a 950 ADV and a Green sticker Honda CR250 with a big tank. I can keep up with just about anyone so I never slow anybody down
I suggest posting in the Rockies thread. You will get some good results in people to ride with in the front range. Either is fine. Both are easy to plate in CO. EXC will get you the brake light switches, but a lot of wiring you may not want or need later. (signals, ect)
For what it's worth, a new XCW wiring harness for the 450/530 only costs about $50. Pretty awesome way to simplify your wiring if you have an EXC and don't need turn signals. Especially on a rally-style bike where you're probably going to be doing a lot of wiring anyway.
Thanks for the tip Jesus! Now I have to decide if I want to cough up the 10K for the new injected 500EXC and wait the the rally kit for it someday (there really is no hurry on the kit)
