Hi all, for anyone who cares, starting to get cold up high. Snow turned us around above Stibnite, about 8200 feet or so. Big bikes plus snow, not always a good thing. :D

If I could figure out how to add photo for dummy I would post one.

Hey man, how are you? Lots going on lately that don't include much riding, dammit! Have had the big bike out a couple of times and the regular dirt bike hardly at all, hoping to change that soon. Will try to stay in touch.

Wow 2 degrees... :eek1 I was riding my trials in WA during the winter before coming out here and loved it. However it never got that low on the dial.

I was trying to talk my wife into letting me get a new trials bike the other day but didn't have any luck.

But then again I can't complain as i have the 650 X Challange and a Montesa 4RT, she has a GasGas TXT Pro and a CRF230L, and the kid has a Beta 80...

Yes I admit I am spoiled... :evil

Late notice but I just got some new parts on my bike and want to try it out. There are 3 of us so far. We will be meeting in the parking lot of the Fort Boise Park at 10 AM. Heading out to Thorn Creek Butte Lookout and ???
There will be some pavement so street legal is best.

I'll be in the silver truck with the (new to me) blue Husaberg.

This will be an easier dirt ride and the GSA would most likely be fine. We will wait for you at the intersections to keep you on the right path.
I have a FE450. If I had another drain plug it would most likely fit. It has a KTM clutch slave cylinder (stamped on it), sprockets and oil filter that I know of. A lot of other engine parts are KTM sourced. Let me know when the KTM is pluged as I want to get more rides in before it gets real cold.

Any chance you've got a GPS track (or map) for this ride? Seems like another one worth adding to the list of area rides for me.

Sorry..no GPS tracks, no GPS. Wayne (bikerlibre) is quite familiar with the area and I just followed him. He did have a map that we used to find the single track.

That could easily be bypassed with dirt roads. I clocked about 110 miles starting and ending at Fort Boise park. We rode most dirt to Thorn Creek Butte Lookout and then the single track down to Idaho City and back Boise.

It was a great day ride on a beautiful day.

    Yeah, great ride!

At the lookout, there was a group of 5 riders on Suzuki Dr's and there was even a patch or two of snow but the trails were dry except closest to the peak.

How do you attach pictures? I don't see any way other than pasting but my picture came out way oversize when I tried that.

You have to link from a hosting site like smugmug or photobucket.

Is this area still closed for dirt bikes? I would like to get in a last ride before the snow flies.
