I've had the E55 since it came out. It replaced a V46 I was using. I have no problems at all getting camping gear for two in it and the panniers. With the V46 I ran out of space. It doesn't seem like a big difference between the two but the E55 is awesome.
Maximus, I'm running the old e460, but I can tell you that more room is always better, especially when the missus is along. I give her the keys to the off-side case and top case when we go on tour and it works out great. IF I had a 55litre box she'd be able to pack a battery for the portable hairdryer. As I type this out she is watching, shaking her well-styled noggin...now she say she wants one...AGGHHHH! Please don't post pics. Bryn, I saw that vid this morning and it pained me! Ruined FJR, fall of 8 foot plus, guaranteed 'glass damage to the sloop, and highly likely visit to orthopaedic surgeon. IF he'd been astride a Connie he'd filtered right past those barriers
Thanks CB and SW. Y'all just about made my mind up. Now to convince the wife. If I tell her it will hold a lot more of her stuff (per sweetwater) I'm sure it will be a go. :^> If that doesn't work, a buddy said tell her it's for safety reasons. They go for it everytime. ;^>
Looks like he didn't hurt himself too much! http://thruxtonian.blogspot.com.es/2012/12/permission-to-come-aboard_1.html

keeping on the topic of appeasing our better halfs, does anyone have suggestions on lowering/improving the passenger pegs?
these do the job perfectly http://projektd.com/product_info.php?products_id=132&osCsid=c052ba918b4bce66667afc2fb2a45367
I should also mention you need to get rid of the solid aluminum rear pegs for passenger comfort. I use the same pegs front and rear and my passenger no longer has to worry about tingly feet. Swapping out the stock pipe also lowered the temp under her heal by about 300° as well. That took care of the fire foot issue.
My dad kept nice bikes, even detailed them once in a while, but he was known to say, "I'd rather ride than rub!"
That is a good looking pipe and it certainly sounds good enough. CB mentioned the heat from the stocker bazooka tube and I never considered that. Good way to sway the missus I suppose, as long as it isn't loud enough to attract JohnnyLaw.
MY Leo Vince (with the insert in)is the exact dB rating as stock. It's much deeper though. And of course I already mentioned the MASSIVE heat difference. Oh, it's purdy too.
