Hello Little Foot, I understand what you are saying about the process, but when I put deposit I was told the first bike was arriving in 2 weeks, and mine was behind that. So I assumed it would be another couple 3 weeks for mine. I was kept totally in the dark and phone calls not returned, and when I did get to talkto someone I had to explain who I was and what I wanted. By the way the owner of dealership has never spoken to me, and I have been in that shop for years looking at GSAs. Maybe I expect too much, as some people say this is an elite brand and maybe I dont fit the profile.
I was welcomed and thanked by owner of LS for buying from him and thanked again on my way out with the bike, I feel much better about spending so much on a motorcycle because it seems at least that they care about you and your machine. I am looking forward to many happy miles. Thank you. D.

My dealer has given me updates, but the ship I've been tracking the Jennifer Rickmers appears to be out of range on marinetraffic.com.

Ah yes, I dock the Jennifer Rickmers all the time. On charter to MSC. OK, let me see what I can find out.

ok, just called my office, I have an order to board her 12/3 around 0430. So I'll have her in berth by 0600 in Newark and they will start to unload the ship by 0700 most likely. Of course the north Atlantic in winter can wreak havoc with the schedule, so keep that in mind.
I got to get up at 0300 so you can have your bike ! :bluduh

    :lol3

The pic I took after docking and getting off the ship my GSA was on.

Cool, thanks. Sadly the bike must still travel out to the land of former Governators and silicon(e).

Yea. You'll have customs then on its way by rail most likely.
BTW, the ship will show up on Marine Traffic.com when its off Nantucket. So start to look for her on Sunday. Its a radio signal that gives it ID thats why you cant see her out at sea.

From what I hear, BMW didn't suffer any major flooding issues or lost vehicles.

The BMW autos are not kept on the pier after offloading like Toyota and all the rest of them. They are driven by the longshoremen (:eek1 yea, not good) off the auto carrier ship in Bayonne NJ to the BMW vehicle storgage building also in Bayonne, which is like a multi floored parking lot. So those cars are kept above sea level. The tide that night rose 15' above normal.
The bikes however come in differently. In containers on a container ship, at a different terminal in Newark. And those are kept on the ground awaiting truck/rail pickup.

It is a sign from above. You were meant to be on a GS, not a GSA.

Friend of mine ordered a Tenere when Yamaha was taking pre delivery orders for the new bikes. When Yamaha had problems delivering the bikes as promised due to the tsunami they sent him a letter explaining how long the delivery would be delayed and offering to refund his $500.00 deposit since they could not deliver on time. I thought that was good customer service. The dealer should refund your deposit IMHO. Bob

Hey Bob, no I havent got my deposit back. I have been busy nursing an injury and preparing for a move so I have not took time to try again. My initial request was totally ignored and call not returned. I have a brand new GSA in my shop with 5 miles on it and I havent been able to ride it due to my injury, I do look at it every day or so (lol). I tried to fall in love with a Tenere as my dealer is 25 miles away and a freind, but I could not get away from the GSA, it called to me every time I saw one I dreamed of owning it. So, after many years of wanting, with a much smaller bank account and fingers crossed, as well as added warranty I embark on my venture with the bike of my dreams. I hope to be riding by friday as I am getting better every day, it is a real test of patience watching my bike sit for over a week in the same spot on sunny 75 degree Texas days. Best wishes. D.

Could be a sign I should've waited for the new GS rather than jump on an RT:wink:
