So i got a helmet from Fritz.......

Not sure what the sticker crap on the shield was for.........but after about 2 days of fingernail diggin i got it OFF...

Then i went on the Shoei site,,downloaded the manual for it........tore it all apart,,waxed the crap out of it..reinstalled all the screws which were falling out of the upper part of the peak......

Then i read up on removing all the interior pieces,,washed all that 3 times each in the sink to kill off all the head cooties and then let it all dry..

    Fits perfect..thanks FRITZ :lol3:lol3:lol3

Anything is better than the last helmet i had,,it sucked big time...

Yup,Hornet DS.........I paid 180 bucks or something,,,,but i`ve seen mint shape ones in the fleamarket...for that or cheaper,,,there was a mint white one at the same time i got this...and one the next day..

To be honest i`m a little surprized at you.........you are like a fleamarket vulture and always get the deals.......:lol3:lol3:lol3 i would think you`d have 6 of these by now:lol3:lol3

Post a WTB ad in the gear section,,,bet you get one in 2 days tops,,they go cheap believe it or not..

Nice work Brian! Are you gonna dyno it when you're done? It would be really neat to see what all your work brought you, and for the rest of the collective........:beer

I don`t think there is a dyno near me,,closest would be at least 3 hours away,,would be cool though to see where it sits when done...tuning on a dyno would be even nicer.......i used to have access to a 4 gas analyzer awhile ago..it and a dyno would be a sweet pair:wink::wink:

    :freaky

    Now back to drinkin..

Nice job, that is precisely why my DR650 stays in the shed out of sight unless Im riding it. If I dont look at it much and just change the oil, clean the air filter its always ready to go. With luck.

So........i got the head out of the box..........and low and behold there is shipping damage,,imagine that:puke1

Right where the small bypass ports are below the exhaust pipe ports are...the head gasket is supposed to seal these off to the cylinder...

Sooooooooo...CW said by looking at the pics that the head gasket would likely still seal...i told him if there was a chance on it leaking.......it would for me:lol3 and if i have to pull the head off after getting it running i`m going to be pissed right off..

    I was kinda pissed off........but at least it`s not a deal breaker:wink:

So ....i measured the port hole,,,5/16 inch..........

Then i tapped the holes 3/8 inch and went and got 4 allen head set screws.......installed one with locktite........then installed another right in after it with locktite too and tightened the crap out of it..........

Done like dinner........leak now ya bugger:deal

    :lol3
