I'll have 20 gallons in the camper, but will try to bring an extra 5 Gallon jug for camp use for the ride in's as well. Also will have charge cables on my Honda genny to hopefully keep one of SuperD!'s batteries charged. Who needs stators ;)

Weather is looking good for y'all. I know it says rain on Friday, but that pretty much translates to 15 minutes of sprinkles over here.:lol3
A chance of showers means partly sunny.:freaky
A little moisture will be good to knock the dust down for you and the clouds will keep the overnight temps from being too cold.
    Have fun!:freaky

I sure am not pleased about the weather forecast I saw this morning. I am not a wet weather rider. The way the forecast appears, I would be making a 300 mile trip so that I could read a book in my motorhome.

I was looking forward to meeting new ADV. riders from other parts of the North West. I will just see ya down the road somewhere.

I wouldn't let that forecast scare you. I seriously doubt it will rain more than a hour or two on Friday, if even that. Saturday and Sunday will most likely be partly sunny with a few drops here or there. I've been here for 18 years now and have seen that's pretty much how it plays out when they forecast rain.
With how dry and dusty it is right now, that forecast will make for perfect riding over here!:clap

I had been thinking of flaking out because of the rain, especially for the ride over and back.

But, it is beginning to look decent on that end, so maybe I can beat the rain, by trucking the XR over instead of riding the KTM.

RoninBoise, Heed the advice of the locals... I have been riding this area since 2002... We will not go over to the "Bend" areas until after a good rain, last week was dry and they need the rain to knock the dust down...I think I posted this before.... I have gone over to ride this area with a 100% chance of snow during the day... It snowed for an hour while the sun was shining and it was just perfect!
Yea, it's your call but I would hate for some to miss out on some good riding thinking is gonna rain all day like Portland's 30% chance of rain and it rain all fricking day! I could be wrong, have been before, but I hope I'm not! The nighttime temps are still gonna be cold but are we not advriders....:clap

Yep. Few mechanical issues in dewinterizing the camper/gear, nothing major, just pushed me back a bit. Sould be there in time for some riding on Thrusday before happy hour. Although, they are all "Happy hours" once I get outta the big shitty.

it is pouring rain like a tall cow pissing on a flat rock right now,,and has been off an on all day.
If these conditions persist, the likely-hood of a departure into the maelstrom is less likely from this perspective.
There have been many times when I have ridden out of the rain by heading east,,this week's end will have a different weather pattern no doubt,,,we'll see how it all develops,,,,,,,,,
Oh yeah,,hey Mort,,check out the Executive Motel if yer bunking in town,,clean, nice, bikes right outside the door, we liked it when we stayed there,,even left some stuff in the fridge,,grrrr,,

GEEKOUT FYI - If anybody is planning on riding Millican Plateau, I found the current OHV map and posted in at the last entry on the thread below. The thread also tells you how you can view the trail maps on your Smart Phone, including having GeoReferencing on your phone - I.e. It will show you where you are on these OHV maps.
