9 business days to ship from you to Ontario, Canada! Nice! Bought regular and simmer stove. Tried out regular stove and it works quite well! Haven't tried the simmer, but after seeing the regular stove in action, I have no doubt the simmer will do its job.

Thanks for a great product and customer service! :)

This might sound like a dumb question, but does HEET have a usable shelf life? I see it occasionally go on sale for $1 a bottle in the spring time at Wal-Mart, and if HEET has a fairly long shelf life, I might pick up four or five bottles.

PS. I got to use my stove over the weekend, and was very impressed! I managed to cook a can of chili and make a cup of coffee without burning anything. Considering my ( lack of ) cooking skills that's saying something!

    Hey Shawn,
I don't think the HEET really has a shelf life, other than the fact it would evaporate if you didn't have the lid on tight. Glad the stove worked for ya!

Keep the bottle sealed, it should be fine for a long time.

Keep it open or Almost sealed, and it will be gone pretty quickly. :evil

Thanks for the info! Next time HEET goes on sale at Wallyworld I'm stocking up!

I've poured the HEET I have in a small Nalgene bottle. It shouldn't evaporate in there..

I looked through the whole thread and couldn’t really find if I can use the stove to cook some veggies with a piece of meat in a small frying pan. Most of everybody talks about boiling water for tea/coffee/soup. I don’t really drink any of these…only beer but that I like it cooold.:freaky…would this little stove do the trick or I need to go to something like Coleman 442 or such.

    Thanks

I think you might come up a bit short on that one.

Figure 5-6 min at about full go for these.

You could do two, have one lit and cooking, at about the 5 min mark lite the other and transfer the pan to it.
I've done that to cook some mac and cheese from a box.

I also have a Simmer and if the water is already boiling, you can move to the simmer to Keep it there, but with twice the run time.

You could get three and have two Regular and one simmer, like I do.

Then try it out and see how it works for you.
(report back if you do, I would like to know how it works for you. :evil )

They aren't expensive, so the risk is pretty low.

How's it work with rubbing alcohol? Flame isn't looking quite as hot.:ear

Just wondering if one were to have this stove in a location where gas line antifreeze wasn't needed and therefore not for sale, what else could be used for fuel?

Yeah. I know. Stoopid questions and I could wade through 25 pages but I also want to ask if anything is in stock right now.:D

I haven't done a test to compare the heat of the flame, but the rubbing alcohol burns very dirty.

I keep my raw materials on hand so I can have stoves out the door usually in a day or two. Heading out to the shop to make some up tonight.
