Thanks guys. I wanted one of these bikes for a long while and of course wasn't able to get one in the states. I have been casually looking here for a while and stumbled onto this one for sale in Italy that had all the options I was interested in and at a price that was well below anything I was finding in Germany. So, after a few days of negotiation and organization I hit the road for a blast down to Italy with my son to pick it up. I'd never even ridden a scrambler up to that point, but did a quick spin on the bike to make sure it was up to the standard advertised (essentially perfect) and it was and took it off his hands.

Since then I've gotten quite a bit of time on it and these Morinis are fantastic bikes. Even with the knobby tires it just drops into corners, handles very well (though in deeper leans the tires do get a bit squirrely) and has great power all the way through the range. Swapping from the tbird to the scrambler is a big change and I have to consciously ride them very differently as it doesn't take much to get that front wheel floating around in the air, especially after just getting off the bird. That just tells me it's a great compliment bike. I never understood guys that own 2 or 3 (or more) of the same, or essentially the same bikes. Different is good.

Sadly, no. I don't think there have been Morinis sold in the states since the early late 70's early 80's. That would of been the 350 and 500cc bikes. The Lambertini 1200 models were never sold there. I know they had plans before to bring them stateside, but since the latest reshuffle I'm sure that's been pushed back (if not dropped completely). It's a shame as the 1200s are brilliant bikes. Because they are such a small company they don't make most of the components other than the engine which means the bikes read like a laundry list of the best Italian parts manufacturers. When I get back stateside I could probably sell her on for a nice profit but this one will end up being an inheritance, not an investment.

They did, But they were bought back out of it last year and started up production again... they even released a new model (the Rebello) on top of it. Now they sell directly from the factory and have service agreements with a network of shops in Europe for warranty work. I can't say how well they are doing at that and if that is how they will continue to operate or if it was a stop gap measure to get production back up again and get the people in place with the skills they needed. They were running specials this summer on bikes but I don't like their new color schemes and this one had all the options plus an extra tank and skirting so I can have a second pain job to swap into (might do a stock color set with it).
