I found some pictures of my old standup ski. This is probably about 1998. The ski was painted Yellow by the previous owner to match the '96 and up Sea Doos but he didn't finish. I got it in boxes and assembled it. The only mod I ever made to it was an extended ride plate (powdercoated hot pink of course) that helped a ton in rough water. It was completely flat which made it a bit slippery so I drilled a bunch of holes in the back to get it to hook better when turning.

I kept the Jet Ski in the back of my truck all Summer on a wooden ladder and just backed the truck into the water to launch and retrieve it. I would go downtown and ride on the Mississippi river after work and jump the huge swells that the upstream tugs would make. I have no idea what the totally radical looking sticker on the front says.

Our old camping rig; '92 Ford F-150, '84 Kawasaki Jet ski 440, '78 Honda Z-50, '62 Glaspar Marathon. I am standing in the boat to take this picture. Tent, clothes and such are in the black boxes. We used the 5 gallons of water for washing dishes and hands mostly.

This was our usual weekly spot on Panther creek on the Alabama side of Pickwick lake. No restrooms, electricity or water and the road in has a couple of deep water crossings. The only amenity the place had was a paved boat ramp so it was usually pretty peaceful.

Rita is cooking either bacon or socks. After breakfast we would usually take the boat over to JP Coleman state park in Mississippi to use their restrooms, then to the Tennessee boat ramp to buy beer and ice. It was a slow boat so that took pretty much all morning.

Our old Kelty Streamside. We considered it a major purchase at the time. I still used it until last year.

    MALE VS. FEMALE LOGIC.

    Woman:
    Do you drink beer?

    Man: Yes

    Woman:
    How many beers a day?

    Man:
    Usually about 3

    Woman:
How much do you pay per beer?

    Man:
    $5.00 which includes a tip.

    Woman:
And how long have you been drinking?

    Man:
    About 20 years, I suppose

    Woman:
So a beer costs $5 and you have 3 beers a day which puts your spending each month at $450. In one year, it would be approximately $5400 …correct?

    Man:
    Correct

    Woman:
If in 1 year you spend $5400, not accounting for inflation, the past
20 years puts your spending at $108,000.00, correct?

    Man:
    Correct

    Woman:
Do you know that if you didn’t drink so much beer, that money could have been put in a step-up interest savings account and after accounting
for compound interest for the past 20 years, you could have now bought a Ferrari?

    Man:
    Do you drink beer?

    Woman:
    No

    Her Diary:

Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it. Conversation wasn’t flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but he didn’t say much. I asked him what was wrong; He said, ‘Nothing.’ I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn’t upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can’t explain his behavior I don’t know why he didn’t say, ‘I love you, too.’ When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep – I cried. I don’t know what to do. I’m almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

    His Diary:

Motorcycle won’t start…can’t figure out why.
