Do you think if the Fifi flew really close to it the dirt would vanish? That would save me some time.

    YA quote " Wind
that approaches the aircraft from a frontal direction and acts oposite to its course is called a 'headwind.'
Headwinds assist the airplane by giving the wing an effective "running start." A 10-knot headwind means that the wing is creating 10 knots of lift before the airplane even starts moving, so this reduces the takeoff roll considerably. So this determines runway heading.

In contrast, any wind that approaches the aircraft from a rearward direction and acts in conjunction with its course is a 'tailwind.' Tailwinds lengthen the take-off run even more dramatically and must be avoided."

Headed out on the V7C to cruise the BBBQ scene. Hit Dickson, checked out the remaining carnage from the train/suv wreck down by the depot. Headed down to Drake field to check out FiFi, then cruised by the track center and the fair grounds, arriving back home just after noon, and just before the rain! :lol3

Followed some FF on an orange KTM LC4 Adventure down Garland through the UA, then passed him at the North Street intersection. Anyone here?

Yeah. Purple paint means the same thing as a "private property, no trespassing" sign.

Cheaper, easier, and longer lasting than a sign. That's why they came up with it...

Listening to FiFi's engines transported me back to St. Louis before the airport was big. My Dad used to take me and my brother (I was perhaps 5 or 6 years old at the time) and sit at the end of the runway and watch DC-3's take off. I will never forget the sounds from those planes. The sounds from FiFi reminded me a lot of it.

Back in the day the terminal was located on the west side of the airport and was a small building with an observation deck. You could stand on the deck and smell the engines and feel the wind from them as they throttled up to head for the runway. It was a really cool thing to do with your Dad.

Oh, on our tour of the plane, we also saw Arkwizard touring the plane, he asked if it would pop a wheelie, and they made him exit the tour!

Standing on my deck this morning taking my first sip of coffee when I was startled by a low flying plane. Guess it was FiFi, flying low in a hard bank to the West. Guess she was lining up to land at Drake. Pretty freaking cool. Had no idea what it was, until I looked @ AdvRider. Of course you FFs were on top of it. Probably the coolest loud machine I'll see all weekend :deal
