Is this acceptable? Stopped to take a few pics of the sunset on the way home last night.

anyone recognize this bike? Previous member here? It's located in Florida. 2012 with 4K miles. Thinking about buying it. Not an XC but has a few things that I like already. Blue would have to go. Would probably paint red or black if anything.

Why is it 'not an XC'?

Hard to hurt it much in 4K miles.

And yeah, what's up with all the blue bits? Looks like someone was bored. :dunno

And the wheels? And remote reservoir?

    That is an XC.

at first I thought it was not an XC because it does not have the XC sticker in the tank and also missing the handguards and yeah not a big fan of the Blue bits.

lots of people I've seen that they buy the beak and install on regular 800's

Hadn't noticed the remote reservoir. It might be an XC after all and the PO just removed the sticker and handguards.

Asking the dealership to give me an OTD price and see if it is worth it.

It's an XC, the XC has spoked wheels and a 21" front, the Roadie has cast wheels and a 19" front. That's what determines the XC or not, not the beak or other easily interchanged parts.

    Ummm, yeah, it's an XC.

For '13 they used the same tank decals as the roadie, obviously to streamline production. If this is a '12 perhaps it was late in the production year and got a roadie tank without the XC moniker. In place they added the side panel under the tank with the XC designation behind the embossed '800'. If this one has niether it's probably just a 'tweener.

The tires will run like shite on the road, go back to 'trails or some Anakee 3's.

Excellent bike though. IMOH anything under $11G's is a decent buy. It already has a factory sump guard and engine guards - about $400 worth. Factory warranty, just barely broken in.

The handguards are probably missing from a tip over and broke one or both, just took them off. A pair of barkbusters are in order anyway.

looks like I am not the future owner I guess. Submitted a lead this morning and went back to the site to look for it and give them a call (since I have not heard anything) and the bike is not in the inventory any more.

Mmmm... I like the Matt Green, it would be my first choice.

But it's academic now with the Safari tank.

Tiger x Camel.... i'm sure that breaks some hippy humanitarian convention somewhere.

On a brighter note, next time ride off for a bit, laughing evilly as they stare after you slack-jawed.

Going back for them is optional *grin*

    CHAOS OUT!

Nice, you have a lot more room in the panniers than I do. I don't know how big the OEM ones are but I have the (cheap and easy) Givi E21s. I carried my camping stuff in a seat bag, with a little thrown on top. :rofl My first camping trip out a couple months ago to Rick's Rendezvous.

This was going back down a pretty gnarly single track that can be ridden from Idaho on into Montana.
