I had a ride out to the coast with my missus on Sunday and noticed the bike was a tad louder than usual, I feared the Y piece of the exhaust had finally corroded.

Time to tear into the beast, removed luggage rack, side fairings, rear mudguard and number plate, scotoiler, underseat tray and finally the footpeg hangers, three of which needed drilling out! :huh

Luckily I had bought a 2-1 link pipe off a fellow inmate a couple of years ago when he shopped his Adventure in for an SE. I'm not really a fan of the single pipe as I think the twin pipe looks much better, but I've just shelled out a shitload of dollar for our summer holidays and money's tight at the mo so the 2-1 will have to do until I've been away.

Bit tight to fit, but managed to get it on.








What I did notice was a grove in the rear shock cylinder caused by the left hand side fairing. It doesn't touch when the fairing is bolted to the bike, so not sure why or how it's caused it, but it's worth a look guys!!!! :eek1 :eek1






All buttoned back up and sounds good, not ridden her yet so can't comment on if it makes a difference. I am going to do a bit of searching to see hoe guys have fitted their tool tubes as I want to fit mine in the gaping hole which is left so it doesn't look so odd.

Pulled the clutch apart again tonight. After looking closer I had some notching of the basket fingers. Swapped positions of the two innermost steel plates. Polished (sanded) the fingers on the inner and outer clutch basket and placed all the drive plates with the rounded edge "out".

Started my tubeless project. First coat drying.
New front tire on, rear one waiting for the rim to be ready. Can't wait to see how the new combo is but I have two more coats and three days to wait.

Bought it a friend due to the imminent release of the F650GSPD! I'm 7000 miles from home right now, but my buddy said they got along just fine when he rolled it in there for me,

In the last two weeks I've:

Pulled the EPS
Pulled the SAS
Installed a set of used Wings Exhaust from Powercell
Rejetted with X-bikes jetting
Replaced rear spring for my lighter weight
Replaced front springs for my lighter weight
Had my seat modified so it's more comfortable
Fixed a breaking windscreen
Wired in my heated vest controller

What's that mean? I loooove my KTM

Ingenious... I'm stealing your method when I change my fluids. I'd been wondering how to lift the front end and THAT is how!

Why a coolant flush and change on such a new bike? Just curious, mine's the same vintage and runs warmer than I would like, especially during the summer.

Mine has 325 miles on it, coolant will be flushed at 600 mile change then again at 2k mark.
Mine runs hot, but I have Akrapovik cans on the way to eliminate some of the heat. The fan kicks on at 70 degrees outside, temp stays consistent, but really normal traffic and the fan at 70 outside temp.
My last bike an original 04 950 did the same, ran great with the new exhaust, I'm expecting the same results.

SWEET !!!!! New front spring rate 6.9 N/mm and rear is 179 N/mm, y buddy is gone for the weekend, and I tore it apart in his garage (its the size of my house) so will have to wait til next week to put her back together and do the test ride. Ran a Hardwire powerline for my GPS.

Last coat for tubeless rear wheel. Tomorrow, The tire goes on and I test it out. In the meantime, Darth Kitten lives!

Today i stole EZ300's idea of putting my FZ1 on the headlight mount.

This picture was after i got it setup and was testing with the multi meter to make sure i hooked it up right.



And this one is all finished just missing the cover over it at the moment.



I am pretty happy with it so far. it will make wiring all the crap up super easy.

Installed a poor man's GPS. An iPhone 4S, MotionX GPS app, a LifeProof case with bar mount, and a new USB port added to switched power. Good to go!

opened up the clutch cover, checked my hub bolts, un screwed them and re torqued , buttoned it up and went for a ride. (just an anual insepection)

Fresh Redline 20w-50 and Cj's nifty oil drain hose-
1)mark ear using template


2)cut ear off


3)Tighten fittings and route hose. Almost looking forward to the next oil change!

Rode to LA to do some skating with a friend.
