Ardys Kellerman, Million+ Mile Rider was killed in an accident in Leeds Alabama this week.

    RIP to an amazing lady.

...The crash happened at 3:22 p.m. at U.S. 78 and Rex Lake Road. Authorities said Kellerman was driving her motorcycle and pulled out of the convenience store at the intersection, which is near Barber Motor Sports. As she pulled onto U.S. 78, she was struck by an oncoming passenger car driven by an 82-year-old male...

Ardys was a fine lady, and a hellofagood rider. We'll certainly miss her. I'm so glad that she made her million miles!

I'm a 33 year member of the MOA and never had the pleasure of meeting Ardys. I do know Voni and they rode their millionth mile together. So sad to hear this. She was a credit to the sport.

It's been on my mind all day since I read it here yesterday.

Can't really think of much to say.

RIP Ardys. May the road be as you wish and the tank never run dry.

A rider who now calls Heaven home. May the roads up there be curvy, endless, scenic, wide open and all the other things that make riding the reason we all ride. You have made all of us better riders knowing your dedication to the sport. Saying you will be missed is a understatement.

Any of us lucky enough to ride as long as Ardy's did is a very lucky person/rider.

She died with her boots on ! That's how I would like to go, 81 and riding a bike, not in a hospital bed or nursing home.

Ironic that she was hit by an 82yo guy.
I wasn't there, but I would safely go out on a limb and state Ardys was a lot better rider than the old dood was a driver. Ya don't rack up 1M+ miles by being distracted.
Pitiful that it happened near my home. I know exactly where the crash occurred.
She is highly respected in the LDR / IBA crowd, and no doubt by most others that were privileged to have met or known her.
    Sadly, I was neither.
You touched many lives, Ardys, and are an inspiration to all.
    Go in peace...

Just heard about it... I agree with Sadlsor, the 82yo prolly shouldn't be driving anymore... a long time ago... would like to know what came out of the police report...
Over a million miles... that's a lot on a bike... may she ride more sunny days in heaven

For those of you who automatically assign blame to the cager: please tell us at what age you plan to surrender your driver's license.

Not that you can definitively determine fault from reading a news article but it sounds as though she was pulling out from a convenience store parking lot and was hit by a car already on the road - which would mean that the driver had the right of way.

As for Ardys, she sounds like quite the lady and LD rider. Godspeed to her and condolences to her friends and family.

That's true. Maybe Ardys just didn't see him coming. That happens to all of us at one time or another.

Some of the self-proclaimed eyewitnesses in the comments section of the news article are claiming that Ardys was at fault. Either way it is sad :(
