What's with all the flakey white stuff???? Thought this was Santa Barbara??? SOCAL??? Still blows my simple mind that you can surf and play in the snow within 20 miles of each other All the great riding led to this first time I have seen this gate closed, must be slickness on the other side...oh well, I can think of worse places to back track through Back down the mountain to the green valley and home.... Get those tires in and on moe.ron...then we will get dirty again
Coming from a photographer of your caliber I take that as one hell of a compliment Now where are these photos moe.ron spoke of??? :ddog
The sun was struggled from behind a level of clouds..I was optimistic it would clear as I climbed out of the ever so fertile Oxnard valley Up into Somis making our way to Piru via Grimes Canyon's squiggley road the sun is shining temps are climbing, not a worry in the world <iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="640" height="480" src="https://api.smugmug.com/services/embed/2372042568_3t6MPrM?width=640&height=480&albumId=27851692&albumKey=wB9W5H"></iframe>

Diverted off Leona Divide (6N04) early for some road damage... Had to take Spunky Edison (6N09) to Spunky Canyon, great curvey beast of a road Right onto San Franquito up to Leona Divide continuation to Hughes Lake. From there it was Pine Canyon searching for more dirt to Gorman area Tried this climbing road Was greeted by my old arch enemy of late...ice
Backed out of trying to tackle ice again, twice this month is enough for a bit Down Pine Canyon, another super fun twisty road <iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="640" height="480" src="https://api.smugmug.com/services/embed/2373666467_5G9HmQm?width=640&height=480&albumId=27851692&albumKey=wB9W5H"></iframe>
At the end of Pine Canyon is a T intersection, last time I was here I went right...so let's see what left brings.. Interesting Great road with a mix of pavement, potholes, loose gravel, land slides and sand :eek1 Loved it but it had to end like this It's all good though, I found a nice route of dirt close to the locked gate..it looked like it would bring me back toward civilization and more importantly gas, food and drinks
