Great pics! But never use training wheels on any two wheeled vehicle, there´s nothing that keeps you from developing a sense of balance more. My parents used them on my older brother´s bicycle, and when they came off they thought he would never learn how to ride a bicycle, he had such problems. with me, they just took the pedals off the first few days and let me use the bicycle as a pushbike, then put the pedals back on. I could ride and pedal a proper bicycle without training wheels before I was three years old.
That story brings back some memories. My youngest is 13 now. She told me to be sure not to throw out my copy of a motorcycle mag that has a comparison of the 250 D/S bikes in it because she wants to read it. My daughter did the best with a PW50 I picked up for her. The 2 stroke is much lighter than any of the four strokes and starts easier than any kick start four stroke. I can't count the number of times this thread has warmed my heart.
she said with red ears and a blushe ... "oh, thanks" nearly 13 1/2, 3rd year as pillion and she can't wait till she gets 15 1/2, then she can start making her driving license for 125 ccm machines.
Gail, Great pics.....and great article you had in the AMA MAG. But not as good as the more complete report here at ADVrider! Bones
Very cool thread . Here's my 12 year old sitting on my bike <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
Your story in the AMA magazine inspired me. I plan on making a similar trip next summer with my daughter because of it. I'm going to insist that she keep a daily journal with her own photos, and when we're back, I'll have her post it on adv. Thanks for sharing your great experience. I hope we get out of our trip as much as you and your daughter did.
Great thread!..Mines 2 1/2 now and cant wait to ride. Dont worry this pic is just a stationary photo shoot. Paul

Here's a current picture of my daughter Tia. She's a senior now, and sure has grown up fast. The FJ is her favorite bike and I was just about to give her a lift to school when I stopped to take her picture. At our privious address I gave here a ride to school just about everyday. I have five bikes and rotate them in my commute. The school kids get a big kick out of seeing Tia get to ride in everyday. One day while picking her up after school, one of the Moms saw me and the bike and told me. " Oh, you're the one my son want's to be his dad. 2HE
