Here is the camping gear I used last year for a 5 day trail ride. That blue sealine 30 bag has a Eureka Solitare tent, Thermarest prolite 4 air matress, and kelty Lightyear sleeping bag. Once setup I stuff my riding gear into the sealine bag and use it as a pillow.

Sealine 50 with sleeping pad, sleeping bag, Eureka Isis solo tent, jet boil. Clothes, and food in a back pack. Sheepskin seat pad serves as pillow.

I mostly try to camp where I can fish and catch some dinner. Hmmm fish.... I carry 2 poles when solo, but had 4 on my last 2-up trip. Jetboil to cook them (in a frying pan), Chinook tarp, Kelty Pole, my 2 man is a North Face, the 3 man is a Mountain Hardware.
A side bag comes off at night to hold ice and beer, or fresh food when available, act's as a good cooler.
Nalgene bottle to transport minnows, then they go in a mesh bag in the lake, also used to dry clothes when riding.

This is me set up for 3 weeks of camping

My sleeping bag is in the left pannier, my clothes in the right, tools compressor, and food and water in the top. In the dry bag, my speeping pad goes around the perimeter, and my cooking utensils fit perfectly within that cylinder. Tent, fly, poles and pegs, and small tarp go on top of that, and the stove and 2 fuel bottles make up the rest. Being old and soft, I now use an old pillowcase and stuff my jacket in it to use as a pillow at night.

Sorry I don't have a picture with both the bike and tent, but this is an old Mountain Equipment Co-op 3 man. Weighs 5 pounds as we carry it- when we're backpacking I carry it and my wife carries the poles and 5 pegs. The tarp is useful where we hike as it is usually raining, and it is a nice shelter to cook under (far, far away from the tent), or to use as a temporary shelter (like at lunch and it's pouring rain).

On this trip (I also use a tent that straps on the back with the chair and table sometimes) I used the little purple job in the extreme right side of the pic.


It packs to about 18" X 7" but in reality needs more space on the mornings when the fly is really wet. I'll normally pack it all in one ofth panniers, but when its really wet and hard to pack I will separate the fly and fit it somewhere else.

This is the cook kit I've been using most often on recent trips. Trangia type alcohol stove and Swedish Army? cookset. Hormel has a line of entrees (some of which are actually good, as in Swedish Meatballs) in oval dishes which fit neatly in the oval pot and pan. See the pic. Boil some water, heat the entree then set two tab top cans of vegetables in the boiling water to heat and you have dinner within 10-15 minutes and no pans to scrub.

This pic was on arrival back home. Usually the tent and cook set and food supplies live in the panniers. The green dry bag holds sleeping bag and clean clothes. I normally use the Ozark Trail big yellow bag from Walmart because its easier to pack, but I swore that skinny little fucking Sealine bag wasn't going to whip me on this trip. Take that comment as it was meant. The black bag is a folding table (yeah, it's worth the bulk to carry it). Blue bag is a small camp chair. Green Thermarest stuff sack. And lastly, the foldable soft-side cooler on top. I had decided to leave it behind, but needed one more object to stretch the bungee straps enough, and that was the first choice in optional/luxury gear.

The tank bag usually holds the compressor, Slime, sippy cup of tire lube, extra maps, camera bag, and extra ear plugs. And other stuff as adjusted from trip to trip.

Cannot believe no one takes a canoe with them...
