we walked and rode around, got another a stamp. (theres 5 or six at different locations inside the park) then decided we were hungery again. We went into the bright angel restaurant, looked at the menu. I asked our waiter how he was.

He said he was hungry, I said you're in a restaurant how can ya be hungry. He said I no eat.

Now we got a waiter who won't eat here :huh

No telling how far to food, we're gonna try it anyway.

They had some skillit plates, one was beefhash something another, I asked the guy whats this.

He said "it's beef"

no matter how I tried to ask, he said "it's beef"

I finally looked at robin and said "it's beef, i'm gonna try it"



It was good.

We turned east on 64 stopped,




over


& over again

At every stop i'd say we need to be moving, then i'd pull in at the next overlook.

Desert tower was our last stop on this side of the canyon.







we left there some where after the crack of noon.


now we're rolling

We took a break at the little Colorado river, navahoe park.



we topped the tank, & a late lunch in Cameron.


Then we hit 89 rolling again, we were just hitting the high spots as we rode by the echo cliffs, we were at speeds that the bouncing couldn't have been god for robins back, but she hung in there.




which i'm thinking had to be part of painted desert.

awhile later she tapped my shoulder wanting to pull over.

I pulled over in sight of a few older houses, she said she was wanting to take a leak. I told her if she could hold out for 8 more miles I was planning on stopping in bitter springs & topping the tank. In 8 miles we saw some billboards telling what was in page & a church, some houses and trailers in the distance. We stopped in down town bitter springs & took advantage of the facilities. See the black speck behind the bush, that's robin in the ladies room.

Ok I forget which river but its part of marble canyon.




gas up in marble canyon, about 10 miles later see a bait shop & bar


We're having a cold one talking to the couple at the next table. As they tell us how far to the north rim, robins looks at me and says get a room



so while she enjoyed the view, I got a room and rode around back alittle

While I was getting the room the guy, asked me where I was from I told him ga. He yelled to some guy in the back, he came up. Dude was from Albany ga. Out there working as a fishing guide.


We checked into our room. Robin walks down to the store, finds out the nearest laundry is back at marble canyon. Robins setting on the bed saying shes not riding 10 more miles.

Albany guy comes by & starts telling us how good fishing is right off the dock at marble canyon. He leaves & robin looks at me & asked how much did you pay him to say that

So we load laundry, grab the fishing poles & head to marble canyon. Some dude in laundry tells us which washers work best. We load the washer & head to the dock.

It was an awesome ride in, no fish


but.........



dark rolled in, got back to laundry threw clothes in the dryer.

Decided to go ahead and eat there.

Best I can say, is it would make a turd.

Got laundry back to room.

Whenever I see this thread pop up I gotta see what you've been up to.

As usual, not disappointed one bit.

Tuesday I woke right before daylight, shower, piddle with bike.

Now robins up and showered we pack & walk next door for breakfast, by next door I mean next door our wall was all that seprated us from the restaurant.

robin had pancakes & eggs, trout & eggs for me it was really good.


I was putting bags on bike when I noticed backrest had com loose and spacer was missing. I had nut that would fit it, the bait shop had some nuts that would work for spacer, only they didn't have enough.

When over to the gude service talked to sweet girl but the guy who knew tools and stuff wasn't there yet so we finished loading & rode on out.

I forgot to mention 2 things. One at cliff dewlers the purple people eater had it's own room.



And the day before robin had picked up my mom a hummingbird statue from one of the grand canyon gift shops. She put it in the cargo net on the back. Some where on 89 when we were skimming across the humps it and a can of seafoam bailed off.

I'd tell ya the purple people eater can still hit triple digits, two up, loaded, but that would be illegeal

We started climbing heading for Jacobs lake. Now the night before looking at the map I thought we'd be riding into a valley to get to Jacobs lake.



But no its on top of a hill so we kept climbing and getting cooler. We met a pretty big group from Denmark that had shipped their bikes to sf ca. So far they'd been on the road 10 days. I'm not sure how long they were going to take to cross the country but when they're done they'll ship their bikes back from charlston sc.

was able to get another couple of nuts to rig spacer for back rest, while we talked to Denmark guys



It's mid moring & we're about 40 miles from north rim.

Looked like they'd had a forest fire.





We were really looking forward to hikeing to cape royal, as luck would have it the road to the trail was closed for construction.

but the short trail to bright angel point had some rocks to climb.

We did see several turkeys there.

Back to Jacobs lake, turn left tru some more forest then the road starts dropping.







Stopped here in fedonia az looked like my kind of place.

Store had a little western town build out back we walked around and looked at. On the way back robin played ball.





I was actually trying to get us to fedonia the night before, I'd heard the grand canyon hotel was nice and cheap. but we did to much site seeing, after all that's what we came for, the rides a bonus.




These were hunting cabins turned into rooms. Maybe next time.


I didn't check to see if the phone worked.

It was about 4:30 visitor center at zion closed at 5 & was still about 40 miles away.

You guessed it we got a room.

I've been doing pretty good on getting out and about, but I may haveto slow down. Till I save up some money & get some honey does done.

Thought i'd throw that out there in case my wife reads this Don't tell her the truth now.



wednnesday morning we got up a little slower.

By the way after we checked in the night before, I said lets jump on the bike & check out the whole town.

She said we've been riding all day & now you want to ride around all the way around town.

She finally gave in, climbed back on the bike. She was so happy to find out we could see the whole town from where we were standing


After breakfast we rolled around the back of the hotel & cut across the the golf course & onto the road to zion.



See saw a buffalo heard, but the pictures weren't so good.


I don't know what to say, words can't describe & pictures don't do it justice.
