I just want to know what it cost for the sealed bearings. I'd love to get rid of that little service item on the /5.

Total damage was about $700.00 plus shipping.

That includes sealed bearing treatment for both, about 90 for the rear and 70 for the front. SS spokes and nipples. Polish the rim and bead blast and clear coat the hubs. Plus assembly of the whole thing.

My R90S has Lester mags on it that are in great condition, I just wanted the look of nice wire wheels. I went on Fleabay looking for a set of decent wire wheels and could not find anything that was nice. I got a guy from IBMWR to send me an email for a set for 1k$ that were new take offs from a r100/7, but they were no way as nice as the 1K would warrent.

One morning before work I was looking thru fleabay and a guy in Conn. posted a set for a Buy it Now of 100.00. The splines were good but they were rusted and had the all the white splotches on the hubs.

I bought those and decided to send them to Woody. I gave them a call and they said about 600.00 to get them done up. Sent them out the week after Xmas and gave them a call. I asked Chris if there was anything he could do about the bearings. I did not want to have to repack them ever. He said they had done a R80GS with sealed bearing and would take a look.

I have to find the pictures of them before I send them out, they looked like crap. Now the look better than new and it has better technology with the seal bearings.

Bet he was talking about the guy from nohorizons.net who mentioned having that done in the equipment forum.

    sounds like a worthwhile upgrade.

Man those wheels look nice. I bet they didn't look that good from the factory.
