Will Lovie get re-signed? I don't even know if he wants the job, but if they don't make the playoffs, I see the noise in Chicago getting louder. I mean, at 7-3 they can turn it around and everybody will be happy, but...... If they don't?
I think Lovie has done an admirable job with a slightly above average team. It is going to get worse for him in the near future as the Defense, while still pretty good, is aging fast. I think they will be in the playoffs if slinging Jay can get back in the mix. I like Lovie and think he is a decent NFL coach.
I used to like him, but it seems he's gotten even more conservative, even acts offended/surprised when other coaches use trick plays. And he will stick with loosers far too long. I'm sure he would make a very good friend..... But this is his last year without a new deal, and I just wonder.......
I don't get it, they're 7-3 and tied for the division lead. They play MN twice plus GB and Det are left on the schedule. With GB's injury list growing, there's no reason to think they can't win the North. I think Smith is a good coach - he needs more help from his GM.
I agree, and am a Bears fan. A win today, and some help from Eli and they are on top again. But..... A loss today, and a Packer win tonight changes everything, with last weeks pathetic showing I see the heat turning up on Lovie. I just wonder if he's the Coach next year if they finish, say 8-8 and don't make the playoffs ?
Lovies value continues to wane. A loss to Green Bay next week, which is very likely, will further put a fork in him.......
Minesota is a hard place to win and Peterson is unstoppable period. My not being a bear fan i dont pay attention to their deal but the o-line has held them back and the defense is getting the packers luck. Its gonna be interesting for the bears, lovie/urlacher this far into the season and no contracts will the bears let them walk or low ball them. The defense has alot of talent but its getting older and cutler has the carol of the bells going on in his head.
With any luck, losing 5/6 AND to the Pack at home will end Lovies stint in Chicago. I cant wait to hear David Kaplan on CSN yelping tonight. It's time for a new Coach. I'm thinking Sean........ Cut the check !
Wow, if they make that happen, the Bears definitely will not suck. Nawlins will not let him go easily. (If they are smart.) Bill Cowher....would be a good fit there too.
Payton if he leaves new orlens i'd say will go to the cowboys and the bears are to cheap to pay him anyways. I think lovie is gone which pretty much means urlacher won't be back because they probaly wont offer close to what he wants, so its rebuilding time.
Getting broomed by GB the last two seasons didn't help his case but Smith isn't the real problem in CHI. The GM down there is as much to blame as Smith.
I disagree. Phil got Brandon Marshall, and Michael Bush, gave Forte what he wanted... While he (Phil Emery) has a helluva lot more to do, Lovie simply doesn't have any plays in him. He's a spectator. His testosterone is gone....... None. Not one. Why the hell doesn't he let Devin Hester run the ball. Devin Hester is NOT a receiver. He stuck with Hanie for months, hell he stuck with Grossman for years. 80% on CSN Chicago last night agreed with me. While I agree he's not the ONLY problem, I contend he is the major problem.......
Just because KC sucks worse, doesn't lessen the suckage of the Bears. Hell I cheered for the Bucs when McKay called for their execution. "I'm in favor of it." - John McKay, coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1976, when asked about the execution of his team. "Well, we didn't block real good but we made up for it by not tackling." - John McKay, the first coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, during the inaugural season of 1976 when the Bucs endured a 0-14 record.
