This should be a standard for a winning idea and every great low cost idea after be given the Newner Award.

Total Awesome Newner or TAN, has a nice ring to it for Job Well Done.

One Old Pair of Carhartt Coveralls Tan (no color change needed)
Strapping and buckles from some junked out luggage
Boot strings and duck tape and a little bailing wire
    Feeling of accomplishment - Priceless

I'd love to sport this Newner luggage to Starbucks but a fancy 12 oz coffee flavored drink = 1 gallon of gas out here. :puke1

Maybe after saving $395 or about 100 gallons of gas I might be able to afford one :evil

    Newner = Brilliant :freaky

utter genius that is a fantastic idea mate, well done. i am especially loving the knee patch!

BUT..... how much better would it look with an old pair of shoes sewn on the bottom and put on the pillion footpegs?

    +1 for the Newner Award

Regarding any failure, if overalls can hold in Junior Samples, I think they'll hold your gear together. :D I can't tell exactly from the pictures, but lacing between the straps with para cord seems like it would reduce stress on the crotch seam. You know, because there's no pelvis in that soft bag to keep the legs from 'diverging'.

The start: An old windshield system I had sitting around. I bent some conduit and welded some spacers to bolt the base shield to
    [IMG]
Top bar: Nut-cert added to bolt GPS mounting bracket to, also leaving room for other gadgets
    [IMG]
Side view: Upper and lower brackets with base shield installed

Before cutting base shield to match bike:

Large touring shield installed. Now I can bolt most any shield to use with the Madstad Robo Brackets:

That is awesome and something I want to do for the Husky for when the weather turns bad.

I had thoughts of doing a adjustable mount for my tenere so I could lower or raise depending on track conditions. Still thinking about that one.

Really cheap blinkers, stick on amber led strips. About 6 bucks for the pair.

Quick and dirty headlight guard. Is it pretty and bulletproof? No. Was it about $10 in parts, an hour of my time, and likely to take a rock before the $250 Yamaha light does? Yup.

Looks like you have a hex spacer and a bracket into the headlight surround. Does the hex spacer line up with the edge of the glass? Hope you have some space to prevent the he. Spacer moving impacting the glass when a rock hits

    Looks pretty slick really
    Well done

That was also my first concern when I put it together, doing more harm than good. But the brackets are about a half inch from the glass in all directions, pics just don't show it well. I went with the hex spacer so that I could have rounded allen bolts facing all directions.

I needed some support or luggage rack to hold my T-bag. Two up tent camping sure eats up space fast. The T-bag uses the backrest as support but still needs something to hold up the bottom. I decided to build a rack that I could unbolt when not in use to keep things clean. So I started out with a CB antenna mirror mount cut in half to bolt to the Touratech bag mounts, then bend some tubing and welded bolts to the end:

Done deal, once I paint it. So far $15 bucks.
