Yep. I'm going to get a second job today! Apparently a lot of people are at home on welfare, so there are a lot of opportunities.
dear honda thank you for shipping the 2013 cb1100 abs to the united states . please be sure to send some black cb1100 abs bikes . do not ship only red cb1100s. all bikes should be offered in black . you cannot just send red cb1100 abs bikes . this would defeat the purpose of shipping the 2013 cb1100 abs to the usa - which is to sell your retro style motorcycles to actual customers . perhaps you should have a little chat with your honda marketing manager and ask him if he needs to take a long vacation . there are two kinds of motorcycle buyers in the united states : a) red motorcycle buyers - who are a miniscule part of the customer base . b) everyone else including black motorcycle buyers who are about 99% of honda riders . thank you for listening . doggrell3000
Son of a gun, they are bringing it! And with ABS too. Interesting that the classify it as a super sports bike on their web page. MSRP TBD. That's the big question now.
According to motorcycle-usa, MSRP is $9999 or $10999 for the ABS model. http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/117/14801/Motorcycle-Article/2013-Honda-CB1100-First-Ride.aspx
About 2 grand less than I thought it would be, given the pricing of the fancied up Sportster models that are selling so well. It's a great way to sell a ton of these to guys who had a big 4 with a Kerker on it back in the day.
You and a ton of other people your age. I can't tell you how many guys walked out of the Honda/y/s/k dealer where I worked in sales because we didn't have something like a V65 Magna, CB750, etc. I think this is marketing genius to bring this bike here.
Not sure if it'll make it to Canada. Probably will. We got the Versys 1000 before our American brothers. I'll take a very serious look at one. one question, WHY would Honda in 2013 even OFFER a non-ABS version? Just put an "off" switch on it for those allergic to change. Lyle
I have to agree. When cars first started to be offered with abs I was skeptical to say the least. Now I've got more than a decade with abs equipped autos and I'd never consider one without. It's saved my bacon a couple of times. Frankly, I think if I had to do a panic stop on my bike I might end up on my ear. I know I should practice. It would be nice to know I can just clamp on the brakes and get maximum braking and not worry about locking up. My next street bike will have abs, period. Don't want to turn this into an abs thread. I kind of like the Gold Wing too, at least in the photos.
If EVERY bike had ABS, it would bring down the cost! You can't buy a new bike in Europe without it. BMW puts it on ALL their bikes. High time the nit-wits at Honda figured it out as well. Non-ABS bikes will take a real shit kicking on resale. It's time we got with the programme here in NA! Do you people LIKE road rash? Lyle
Seriously, the only thing they haven't outlawed yet in Europe is the right to complain. Yet. Anyhoooo....you know, this is a GREAT looking bike.....I was really hoping Honda was going to bring out a more sport touring version of the VFR200 though. How about a VFR1200 Engine in the new CBR frame?! Woohoo! .
You're correct. Still, after riding since 1968, my next bike will have it. So should yours. Cheers Lyle
