Talk about timing....I have a Touratech issue/question. I am thinking about buying a Desierto III for my 2012 GSA from another inmate. The question is...he has the model for the '08+ GS (not GSA). The part numbers on Touratech's web site are different for the '08+ GS and the '08+ GSA. Looking at the installation instructions they appear identical. The current owner called Touratech and said that he was told that all the basic parts are the same except for the lower brackets that attach near the tank (since the GSA tank is wider). Is this correct? If it is I should be able to order the corresponding part and the system should work fine. I would assume that Touratech has some type of internal part numbers for each individual component of the Desierto and would think that comparing these numbers would tell exactly what parts are the same and which are different. I just don't want to buy it and get stuck with a system that doesn't work on my bike because it's major components are different. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The major components of the R1200GS Desierto fairings are all the same. As the tech said on the phone, the lower mounts where the fairing attaches to the side panels, or tank are different. These parts would need to be special ordered in Germany, as they are not something we stock in the U.S. It will take some time to research the correct pieces for the conversion, and to get them shipped here. Give us a call and we can get the ball rolling. I have no estimate on the cost of the brackets, we will have to research that as well. Best way to proceed would be to call our customer service line at 1-800-491-2926.

Just ordered and received my touratech zegas pros in anodized black. They are awesome and I am very pleased with your company. One complaint, I paid over 2k for panniers that have no locks?? The locks are sold separately and you have to install them. Again minor complaint but who orders bags without locks?? Just build it into the price and have a tech install them? My crying aside the zegas pros are beautiful and my dealings with your company have been superb. Thanks now add the locks.....

Can you talk the parent company into making a left side GS/GSA bracket that is symmetrical to the right so you can use a full size case on the left. No exhaust cut out, same width. I wouldn't think it would be too difficult and given that other companies offer this with relocated exhausts demonstrates there's at least some interest.

You've nicely made up for it by spamming four different forums outside of the vendor area.

Tell me, does that come in a titanium container?

You can also choose to use a padlock to lock the cases.

Surprisingly enough, many customers choose not to install locks on their panniers. Some folks don’t want to worry about keeping track of a key or don’t typically leave the bike unattended with valuable items in the panniers. The pannier latch is designed with a hidden trigger that must be engaged to open the latch, and actually keeps many folks from opening the pannier even without locks. Also there are people that prefer the old-fashioned pad lock approach which can be used with the hole provided on the latch for this style of security. Some people add locks at a later time so they can match the key to a Touratech locking GPS mount, locking windscreen spoiler or locking oil filler cap. For these reasons we make the locks available as an optional accessory.
