KYMCO GTi 300

After reading the last several pages about the Kymco GTI 300, all I can think is "I want one!"
But in what color?

I've never heasrd of any scooter doing that. Did you hit some deep water?

I believe we got 2 inches of rain that day. Other riders have stated the same thing at Kymco.com forum

That seems like something to be concerned with. Have you talked to a dealer about it? Can they do anything ?

Looks like we may have a problem here with the belt slipping. I for one will be in touch with Kymco. Just for the record, I've had some past experience with Kymco warranty claims. They are second to non in that department, the very best.

What happens? Does the bike redline or just no go with any revs?

My bike has an open exhaust vent for the CVT cover and I take it to the spray and wash usually blasting the area pretty good. Never had a problem.

Just don't get the gold/yellow color - gawd it's ugly. I have to keep mine covered up in the garage 'cause it makes me want to barf!

No, rev's didn't go way high. I was riding pretty easy since it was raining anyway. Just a little throttle on an uphill and rev's went up. Soon as that happened I backed it off, didn't want to be doing donuts at 45 MPH. Took me by surprise. No trouble maintaining speed, just couldn't speed up on the uphill. I would really like to hear an explanation as to what is really happening here.

CVTs need to have some cooling air. It would seem that the way the air intake is designed allows some water to get in.

..which is also great at cooling.

I'm a member of that club too. I really don't know if I'll get another motorcycle. Although I chose a Honda Reflex 250 over my sportbikes.

Finally got a chance to get my GTi out on the highway for an extended high speed ride. Rode it 100 miles, of which 80 was on the highway and freeway (posted 65 & 75mph). This machine really goes! I even had a 20 knot crosswind changing to a headwind for most of the ride. Very comfortable cruising at these speeds and higher. Every time I ride it I am further impressed with it! What a great scoot.

I have to agree with you on that. The GTi is a very nice scooter and if I needed an urban commuter the 200 which is all we have in Canada; would be high on my list. It fits me; just, the SYM HD 200, not even close.

For longer rides, the lack of a windshield and the underseat tank would be a pain along with that skinny hard little seat, but for local commuting I wouldn't care.

In a heads up drag race or roll on the BV350 and GTi 300 are evenly matched.

Probably only up to a certain point.

I've ridden both and subjectively the BV feels faster and has a better launch

got to come into play at some point.

Head to head several times. They are so close. The GTi clutch is about as quick as the wet clutch in the BV.

The GTi can stay with the BV500 too up to about 45 then you see tai lights on the 500 as it steadily pulls away.

That can be fixed with 14gr Dr Pulley sliders.
