In 2010, I lived in Augusta, GA for six months, which is where 28 starts. One weekend I rode the whole length of it and have to say it starts getting good in Walhalla, SC.

Has anyone here used the Olympia horizon pants or jacket? They seem to have everything I'm after in rain gear.

Another pic from today's ride. The hills north of Bellefontaine.

No, but it was just down the road from there. This is the high point, Campbell Hill. Not much of a view there, considering it's surrounded by buildings.

Yeah, but being tied for the 121st highest point in the state just doesn't sound as impressive.

I'm a firm believer that change in elevation is more fun than just hanging out on a high point. :evil

I was thinking it was a high point for some other reason. :evil

Hmmmm, is that why it is called Highland HS?

I think my house is at 1250'.

300' & 50 miles north shouldn't make much difference, but my weather is always a little harsher than what C'Bus gets.

Yes. The hill at the end of CR 16 is named Hulse Hill. The highest point on my property, according to Garmin [IMG]

Top of the mound I live on is 1270ft. Darn near the highest point in Clark county. :lol3 Don't know if it's still considered part of the all mighty Bellfountain ridge or not? But I take comfort knowing Columbus will drowned before I do. :lol3

The Bellefontaine Outlier is made up of Devonian-age (408-360 million years old) Columbus Limestone, whereas Clark County is mostly Silurian (438-408 myo) and Ordovician (508-438 myo) rocks. Two different formations.

A detailed article on the Outlier can be found here: http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/Portals/10/pdf/newsletter/Winter91.pdf

One of my other hobbies is fossil collecting.
