Going north on 35 today around 3:30, I saw three separate KTM 990s going south. WTF?
Is there a law out there that bans ownership of other bikes? Something in the water?. A secret, mind numbing cult of orange zombies. The inevitable effect of too much exposure to yuppies? Other explanations? Please, I want to know.

Well, the KTM Rally in Bend this weekend might be part of the reason for the large amount of orange heading South! :freaky

I currently own five KTM’s including 950 Adv, 950SM. They are great bikes. I just don’t see that many on the road and was shocked when every bike that passed me was a 990. By the way, “mind numbed zombie” describes me perfectly.

That would have likely been a group heading to the KTM rally, that left our place in the a.m. I think we had 17 KTMs and their guys camping out in our yard Tuesday night.

Oh my. That was soooo f'n fun :norton
Sixteen 950/990s and one 690 terrorizing the forests around the Hood.
Bennett Pass, Barlow Road, and anything else I could find to keep us off the pavement on our way to Kingfisher campgound near Bagby
.... where we met....Jimmy Lewis, famed KTM Factory rider and good guy (now an editor at "Dirt Biker" magazine :1drink).

Should joined the pilgimage, Dale, you'da fit right in....

Yep. Two-lane paved, turns into a one lane paver about half-way between Hwy26 and FS46 (Clackamas River Rd).
    Sport-Bike HEAVEN :nod
    ...Heaven for Adventure bikes too,
but the 4220 bumpy side road to Olallie Lake will become IRRESISTABLE :clap

Another slight detour to this puts you on FS58, a longer out-of-the-way single-lane paved sweetie that takes off of Skyline near "Little Crater Lake"

My buddy ace from Buxton and I met at Pebble Ford campground last weekend for some dualsport action. This little area on the east side of Mt. Hood must have been the only area in the NW with NO SMOKE (not much). We circumnavigated the Badger Wilderness and visitetd Tygh Valley. I had been around Badger before but ace was imrpressed with the views of the Mt.

Those 1 lane FS roads are fun on the WRR (downhill direction)!

I did not ride "around the Hood" yesterday. I rode right through the middle of that sucker. Coming back on the GS from a stellar campout at Mt. Adams with my Dad on his GS and our neighbor on his K bike. We crossed the big Cheese Grater and made a bee line for Bette's for a Crab Omelette Lunch. After that we waddled out, saddled up and headed for Lolo Pass. Cruising along I look Right and see Red Menace who is Outstanding in his Field (literally). I had to disrupt the class with a Honk and Wave Fly by. On down the road there (Fruit)stand the McCurdy's. Another Honk and Wave Fly By, sorry we couldn't stop but had miles to cover before night.

Man, if you wre there a week earlier, you woulda seen 17 big ass KTMs roaring right past on our way to Bend's KTM Rally.

So, I take it you found Cold Springs Road, leading up to Bennett Pass,....
Don't mind the "Road Closed" sign,...those refer to Washingtonians only.
    Oh,......nevermind.......
Fly by in the Hood !!
