Manuel's problem on that particular stage(day4) had nothing to do with the mousse- it was fencing wire (and believe me, there was heaps of that stuff around) trapped in his rear wheel that ripped the rear break line clean off.. Cheers waldecker
Bluebull i figure this as close a record of events as needs to be done, no need for a seperate RR, but as soon as i eventually get home ill drp all the pics and video i have here :)
Thanks Jason, looking forward to it. Also a great way to get over post racing blues. Normal life must seem so drab now after that experience.
You know of what you speak Its definitely like coming down to fifty kph after a long day at 120. But i was also honored to meet Dave Schwartz! What a cool event.
Yes the post rally let down is the worst. The good thing is that Jason finished...at least he doesn't have to think about the need to go back and finish the damn thing
Jason is now officially on the dark side. Its just your little country that uses weird numbers that no one else can understand.
Howdi John, Home today, at last. Man that was alot of K's in 2 weeks. I think I will have motion sickness for a few days. My tally for this years Safari includes 2 roos, 4 pigeons, 1 emu, and a bunch of smaller suicidal birds. Currently dumping 210Gb of pics to the server Should be something to look at. Really nice to see you and all the other competitors again.

Good stuff Jason. Beach tracks like that help tune your sand riding skills! I know its a bit of a lottery, but were you not tempted to get out of the 4wd ruts and try the beach itself? Good to see the twin cylinder BM out there. How much suspension travel did Rooney manage to engineer into the rear suspension? My brother and I built up a similar 1000cc BMW for the early Aust. safaris held in 1985 and 86.
