I'm shopping for a replacement for my 670HP 996TT right now. I'm torn between getting another modern Porsche, Like a 2004-2008 GT3, or something more historic and vintage. I really like the old 930s, but could do a 964 or 993... I just want back in a Porsche... Driving a well sorted 97 M3 right now, and truly enjoy it as a daily driver, but there's just no comparison to owning a Porsche...

    Glad this thread is here.

Nice looking ride. 1600#, hand laid Fiberglas, 3" steel tube frame an a 75 - 150+ hp air cooled motor.
They are a very rewarding driver and a timeless concept.

is that one of those modernized early 911's? I can't remember what they're called. Some of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen:eek1

    That's funny. :lol3

It's an original Carrera RS with 42,000 miles on it. The street version of the RSR that was raced in the IROC series for a few years, like the picture of the green one in the museum.

The body of a Singer has the RSR-type flares and the right rear quarter oil fill, but that's just about the only similarity to an original. :lol3

Really, an RS with a sliding roof. I've not seen one like that before. I'd have guessed it was a clone from that alone, not mentioning the wheels, glass trim and looks like that seats were changed also. Most people would not make those changes and devalue a very expensive car. Nice looking car none the less.

Cam timing 911 motors is relatively easy - just take your time and run through it at least 4 - 5 times.

These Porsche motors are a bit more intimidating.....

    That.

I was passing the dealer on my bicycle yesterday and noticed they were having an "event". Judging from the parking lot, there were a lot of current 911 owners coming for a look see. Nice collection of GT's too

I did notice a Panamera in the previously owned lot. It was being offered for a lot less than it's new price. Wonder if the Panamera is just not selling as well as they'd hoped?
