Anyone have any suggestions to stop the swearing emanating from my garage nightly?

I was getting some clutch drag on the 06 525EXC, tried new fluid and bleeding. No change. Swapped out the Rekluse for the OEM clutch for easier trouble shooting.

I am getting no clutch lever action. The lever works (loads up, pushes piston, you can hear it actuate the throw out on the clutch basket side, etc) but it doesn't disengage the clutch basket. Once it's in gear the lever has no effect.

No leaks, the system has been bleed the standard way (pump lever), reverse bleed and vacuum bled multiple times. The Slave has been removed, cleaned and the gasket and Oring replaced (Piston Oring not replaced, but inspected and looks solid). Piston moves freely, no bore wear, cracks.

The clutch basket has been removed and replaced, properly torqued etc twice now again with no effect. Clutch install matches manual/fiche install (right order of washers, bolts, spacers and plates etc).

I don't want to take it in to a shop but I don't have any clue what to look at next. Anyone have an extra slave they don't mind parting with temporarily for a trouble shooting session to see if the issue is the slave or clutch side of things? Suggestions?

Maybe I should stick to working with headlights instead.....



Ryman, Trackhead, I PM'd you to see about meeting up for a mtn bike ride this week. Let me know if anything works. I'm around all week and I'll need to be taking a break from cursing at the KTM. Or I've heard beer has calming effect if we can't pull of a ride.....

anyone know of some good cafe's/diners.. preferably with outdoor seating that are bike friendly (parking and table where you can keep an eye on your bike?)

Cocksuckers... Got a call from the Weber County Sherrif dept today, informing me that our home above Huntsville had been burgled. I immediately checked here to see if I missed out on a Monte Cristo ride with you fat fucks... No such luck, so it must be some other cocksuckers.

They helped themselves to my HDTV flat screen, oh yeah take the Xbox while you're at it - can't play it without the TV anyway. Help yourselves to my Henkel kitchen knive set too... Don't need to cook since you cleaned out the cupboards of food. The blankets and pillows were only needed some times, I won't miss them. Help me understand why you took an unopened case of toilet paper, a case of Top Ramen, my old Carhart jacket, a case of bottled water... And 3 of my four camp chairs - didn't want the full set? And why take the wireless receiver for the rear speakers to the surround sound... But not the sending unit and remainder of the set?

Between me and the insurance it's all replaceable. Fortunately my trail cam got photos of the fucktards liberating it all for the house... Unfortunately the photos are not clear enough to identify to cockholsters ( term stolen from this site).

So all you fuckers can come up anytime to sit in the jacuzzi and sip some beers, now that the TV is gone so is the porn. Bring your own ass wipe as I am nearly out.





Just for the record I had knee surgery on Friday so was unable to make it up to the house for the long weekend... But got to clean up all afternoon today anyway. Need to catch these dirt bags...

I would vote KTM Adventure with the extra suspension. I’m 6’4”, 185 lb with a desk job.

It’s a highly capable highway bike, good for hours and days of 80mph cruising, with extra uphill passing power. It’ll haul a passenger and her stuff. (mine has screw-studs protruding up through the passenger pegs for extra grip)


With a simple plywood flat-bed, it’ll haul a fishing rod and enough groceries, beer and gasoline for a couple days.



Add panniers for more comfort and range, but watch for trailside roots and rocks.



It is a bit heavier than a single-barrel dirtbike, but with nothing a little momentum (and one or two testicles) won’t solve. BTW, if the SE is 50 pounds lighter, that’s only about 10% including the protective gear.

I have tried many times to put the square peg in a round hole, but not much luck yet.



The BADB has always felt right at home.







Admittedly, it is not as fun as the 300 2-stroke in highly technical tight-n-twisties. But it’s honestly more fun and less tiring than a light bike for endless, nasty, rocky, narrow, steep, rough, jeep trails to hell, travelling 10 to 40 mph (and obviously way better than the 2-stroke on 50-60 mph dirt roads, 70 mph country roads and 90 mph freeways).



I’ve ridden solo quite a lot, and I can pick it up if it’s not too steep or slick. I sometimes use a strap over my shoulder for a better angle. It won’t turn around when pointed downhill down a singletrack – I sometimes stop, walk and look before riding on.

I prefer to not pick it up and try very hard to not drop it, but it is surprisingly drop-tolerant. I’ve broken a handguard and the upper half of a windscreen in 25 kmi and dozens of trail naps, thanks to the roll cage, skidplate and luggage rack (60 – 80 lb of worthwhile weight).

The stock windscreen is inadequate IMO. I had none of the buffeting everyone complains of, but plenty of bugsplat, wind noise, and gust jerks. So I built a simple larger screen which slides down for off-road. BTW, clear plastic is better. Although I’m usually on the pegs in the nasty, there’s an occasional need to see close-up objects while seated.

40 acres and a 450x for everyone if i was president. You ride too much to get you're crops in and your responsible neighbor gets to turn your farm into a ditrbike track while you starve and die! If i were prez i'd also provide a kit that you could swap out your 450x rear wheel w a tiller wheel thing, to get that 40 acres into shape so you weren't starved/famished for race day!
