Thanks. Lost marbles. How is the Dr 650 doin? Had it in Uwarrie yet? What do you think of my cowboy grill? A blacksmith near Blacksburg Va made it. It comes apart and stores in a burlap bag.
Nice pictures up on the parkway. Check out mile high campground up above Cherokee. Great views from up there. The steaks are always better after a good day of riding although I can cook a mean steak on my Weber grill at home while having a glass of home made wine. Never ever use gas for a steak. We cook chickens and whole pigs On the gas pig cooker for party's now and then.

A few weeks back, I went riding in the alps with 3 buddies. In europe camping 'wild' isn't always accepted, heck in some countries it's even illegal. But we found a very nice spot overlooking a village near Sondrio. We followed an old road (quite a challenge with a K1200R) to where it ended and pitched our tent there. Best view while cooking all trip! mc eikelbijters 2012 by serialc, on Flickr mc eikelbijters 2012 by serialc, on Flickr

Love this thread and many of you have camped in some remote places....but I was just curious as to how many of you travel with a some sort handgun for protection from the wildlife or have actually had encounters with wildlife/locals that you were wishing that you may have been carrying something.....or is it probably not as often as I might be thinking. Just curious....
The only worry one might have is in bear country, but as long as you don't keep food in your tent, or in your bags at night, there is little chance of one molesting you. Serialcee is right, an airhorn will suffice in most cases. The cities are much more dangerous than remote places.
