Geez, I know those are tight... helped a friend install a battery in one... What is your max dimensions and I can check for you. JIm
Not sure on the box without tearing it apart, but even where there is room, the cables tend to take up that space. The YTZ10s is 6 x 3 7/16 x 3 11/16 (per Yuasa). The box could possibly tolerate more width, but the cables run beside the battery so I'm not sure I'd want too go much wider (Thicker). If I recall right, not much room to go up either. Probably some room to spare length-wise, maybe a bit over 6" would fit. Ideally, probably nothing more than about 1/8" bigger than a typical YTZ10s, maybe 1/4" to play with on the length dimension.
For a more powerful battery I think the ETX18B should fit nicely assuming you have a lttle room for the height of 4" I measured more precisely than the specs: 5.290'" L x 2.625" W x 4.05" H They come with small pieces of adhesive foam since it's a narrower battery, the cabling may work better. Jim
When I get a minute I'll tear the bike apart and see how it looks to be certain. DiscoDino fit the 12 cell Balistic, which is listed at 4.25" high, so it should probably work. Thanks for the assistance! (and to DD too).
I got the battery today (ETX18B) and can confirm it fits in the X-Challenge. It was snug, height-wise, but fit fine. No problem with the other dimensions. Thanks for the help.
I went on your site to see what battery would fit a 2007 Yamaha XT225 and it directed me to the OEM Yuasa. That can't be right unless you don't make one for my application.Brian
There's a bunch of pics here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=20510652&postcount=4379 Also, it started up fine the other day (about 36F) after sitting in my unheated garage.
Hi, The batteries ARE sized to match OEM so we use Yuasa dimensions and capacities. Right below the finder buttons is the corresponding Yuasas on the right column. (A bit pixelated, sorry) Your OEM would be a YTZ7S which matches our ETX12A Thanks Jim
Ok-went on the site and put that # in-at the very least it wants to sell me a big heavy battery.I have a great( big) heavy battery now.I was wondering if you have a small light battery to replace my current battery.I can't justify spending the money otherwise. It seems your replacement is 4.2 pounds-is that the lightest battery that will work?
Hello. I would be interested in a battery booster that would attach to the SAE lead that goes directly to my motorcycle's battery so that I could start it if my main battery somehow drained. Also do you have a main battery replacement suitable for a 2012 Speed Triple? Your website lists none. Apologies if this has been addressed earlier in the thread.
Here's the correct battery for a Speed Triple: http://shop.testsycl.com/ETX18C-MOTORCYCLE-BATTERY-ETX18C.htm ETX18C Just FYI, If you drain your battery, you still need to disconnect it before the spare will work. Drained battery will just suck all the power out of the good one.
