Hey Nokmuay, KTM's are notorious for having seats that feel like a pine 2x6. You are not alone in your discomfort. The collective is correct in suggesting to"Join the line at renazco.com." he makes awesome, comfortable seats.

"Seat Concepts" is another good option.

    Hey all,
So i'm the proud owner of a (relatively) new 640 adv. I say relatively because while it's a 2002 it only has 23000km on it, 6000 which i've put on myself in the last 5 weeks. First bike, instantly fell in love with it when I went to take a look at it.

Now the only thing is that the muffler (silencer?) is rattling something fierce. Not sure where it is but inside the plate that the supertrapp discs bolt in to is welded in 3 spots to the outer shell. So i'm kind of getting frustrated because the rattling sounds like there's a marble down my exhaust pipe and drowns out that sweet "hey mate it sounds like your engine is about to grenade" sound. Is the only way to open it up to repack it or investigate the sound to grind off those tabs and re weld it afterwards?

So I was wondering if there were any opinions on whether or not this is a common thing for the supertrapps that's easily fixable or if it's a dump-it-and-move-on black and white decision.

Hey, I've got one, too! :lol3

I do plenty of long days and have done a few SS1000s, all on the OEM seat. The trick I've found on long road rides is to move your butt on the seat every 10 minutes, and don't wait until you get sore to start this. Just a few millimetres changes the load points on your butt, and has the bonus of moving the angles of your limb joints, too, so they don't get stiff & sore. The last SS1000 had an extra 900 km warm-up ride the day before, so I ended up doing 3400 km in 4 days... due to my lack of seat time recently, that was about 100 km too far for my butt, the last hour was not very pleasant!! Next time I do that I will add some closed-cell foam on top of the seat, temporarily.

You can also roll the handlebars fore/aft in their clamps, which will change where & how you sit on the seat. For me, the standard or zero position pushed me too far back and made the bike feel like a chopper. I usually run them at position 1 forward, which pulls me closer to the front wheel. But then, I've got a good ape factor, YMMV.

The 'comfort' seat on the Adventure is actually very good compared to the standard LC4 Enduro seat, or the vinyl-covered plank on any of the proper dirt bikes. It's no Lead Wing, but it's all relative.:deal

I'm looking for some KTM hard-bags for my 1998 620 EGS. I love my Giantloop, but would like the option for hard-bags as well. Anyone have a good resource for these or better yet used? Thanks!

    Got one on mine!

    Best upgrade yet!

What I did is be patient on eBay until I found a stock seat. Paid $50 shipped for used stocker and sent it into Renazco so I could still ride while my new seat was getting built.

Now I have two seats if I want to have another one built down the road!!

Mine was built +2" high and +2" wider on both sides! I am 6'4" and have a big butt!

    :)

Oh and get full suede! My 2007 BMW XChallenge was half suede half vinyl. It is on the Renazco website for your viewing.
