Thanks.
I saw it was a 14, so not much use to most of us over here. There's not a huge call for winter tread either :lol3.

I've failed the 'remember to record the tyre details' test a few times too. such is life.

Same tires with snowchains on three wheels. In this case the spare is a 135/70-15 Champiro GT Radial snowtire:

And an overall view of the tires I use nowadays, all on the same 15 inch car rims (got 11 of them), with in the middle the Continental Ecocontact 1 145/65-15:

145/15 Firestone with innertube, only on the rear:

165/65-14 Pirelli Snowcontrol on all three wheels (preferred them above the Michelins):

On older sidecars with car tires I used to ride the Uniroyal Rallye in 125 and 145/15?, which was one of the standard sidecar tires at that time.

That is an amazing setup! Do you have any more pics or details on it? I like that shaft drive/CV combo, that is amazing! I bet it NEVER gets stuck!

You lost the bet. Everything can get stuck :lol3 But when this gets stuck, you need horses (I hear somebody laughing now :D ) to get you out.

Last time I changed a bearing of the outgoing shaft of the gearbox (weak point imho), I also changed the clutch plate. I allready bought a new one, since I would have the gearbox out and therefor had easy access to it. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I’ve put in the new original Sachs clutch plate, since I never had any problems with the original one. The old one I use as a spare, since it was still looking good. I’m not sure how long it was in there.

As for the horses. I once rode into the woods with (wrong) street tires and got stuck pretty bad. (Should have stopped earlier, the cilinders got blocked in the mud). It took me a long time and I got very dirty to get the outfit out of the mud. Ground troops were allready on their way, but just before I got out myself, a couple of horsebackriders that passed by, wanted to help me.

Now the story goes, I needed four horses to pull me out ......... :augie
