Bummer, but thanks for the info. Will have to fix this problem... the lights are unacceptable.

By the way... this bike for sale looks familiar... does Creeper still post about the 640's? Last I heard he had bought a Sherco or something weird...

There is another version in the index, it's quite a simple wiring job to use the power to the high beam as a trigger for the low beam.

I suspect that the original design has both lights operating for high. The alternator can take it, and why on earth would you fit only a narrow pencil-beam for high?? :loco Some markets prohibit twin-headlight motorcycles from running both at once, so maybe they now all come configured like this.

The good news is that the light from both on high is good, partly because the close-in spread doesn't change or flicker when you dip your lights - so your vision is uninterrupted. However it still doesn't shine around corners, so an mtb-style helmet-mounted light would be a useful addition.

I was just looking at KTM Hard parts, and I would say yes. You pick the colour from silver, blue, black, green or orange.

Without a HID hole bored in the fairing it does not seem so Creeperesque. The white tank and graphics do look like Chris' handiwork though.

He has gone over to the dark (read French) side... :deal

Like in this case, a 950 fender cobbled onto a 525 front end-no problem. As for my stock 640 fender, I sold it for $50, but I haven't seen the check yet:rofl

    Thanks Cody

    Thanks.

I've got 990 black one that I began making some brackets but was wondering if a true bolt-on was possible other than the 660 cf rallye...:D which btw I have one for sale. /spam

    I guess I'll continue withthe 990.

You guys have just confused me now with these screens i'm only 5 foot 5 inchs high do you think one of the hyde screens would get the air over my helmet,
i don't mind the look of these units at the moment i seem to get a lot of buffeting on my zeus helment peak,
by the way i ride a 640 adventure.

    Cheers Phil

Would it be possible to fit a 660 rallye engine in a 640 adventure??

A true bolt on is possible if you buy the brackets from MecaSystem. Charlie Rauseo form RallyPanAm is a dealer in the US who can get them for you.

Kartman recently installed a 660 SMC engine - which I think it quite similar in some aspects - into a pre-2000 Adventure. He has his own build thread on here.

    mxchamp,
I'm curious, if you are heading for some rough single track, would you take the LC4 or the X Challenge?

If you had to pick one for the TAT, which one?

Not trying to stir the pot or anything..
