I think the windscreen looks great - the fact that it actually helps is a bonus. Plus he's riding it and I'm sitting here drinking coffe and looking at pictures. This bike is really growing on me. I thought I would never get rid of my R100 but this has me thinking. Good thing there is a months long waiting list.
I think it looks good, but a gloss black with silver accents would be nice too. It's small and would be easy enough to get painted to personal preference I think.
Everything looks ok until you get to the seat. It is too short and looks like a cheap café bike with budget being the main concern. Take a look at DLrides bikes, the tail section protrudes beyond the tire as it should. It just looks to home built at the rear.
I have to appologize if it's already been said, but can anyone comment on pilion comfort? Thanks in advance. Steve 05 st3
Yes, without a windshield it's painful though, even with an Airhawk pad. No matter, Bill Mayer Saddles did me right last week and goodbye stylish yet less than perfect OEM seat, hello comfort.
Oh yes, best BMW seat I ever sat on, whole day out in Spain and didn't feel a thing, while both the GSA and the S1000R made my tailbone hurt. Sliding foreward in the twisty stuff to weight the front is also easy to do on it... Sent from my ST17i using Tapatalk 2
2014 BMW R NINE T, TV commercial We've all seen plenty of BMW TV commercials for the auto's. So last night my wife and I we're watching the Animal Planet channel "MY CAT FROM HELL" show and low and behold BMW ran a commercial for the "R NINE T". I would say it was aimed at a "mature audience". It was a 30 second spot that featured a middle aged adult man arriving at a nice restaurant meeting "yuppy/preppie friends" on his BIKE ridding one up. Personally I would've have preferred to have seen a GS or RT featured, but what the heck. It was cool to see BMW marketing do this. Regards,
Here in Chicago on cable FX channel, the BMW "bike" commercial has appeared, but usually after 9pm. Other than that, never seen a BMW bike commercial,ever....
I have seen the commercial several times usually during Sports Car Racing programs. Could be during Moto GP broadcast as well can't remember. It is a very cool looking BMW. My dealer has sold each one they received and they have had more demand than supply. Cheers
From what I understand, they're pretty much all spoken for already and are a 1-year deal since they're built out of the discontinued oil-head GS parts bin. Good bet at a modern collectible, but seems a waste of advertising dollars.
I went and had a look at one at the local BMW showroom. They are a sweet looking bike no doubt. The main issue I found with it was the foot pegs sit right where your shin wants to go when you stop. Even just sitting on the bike in the showroom, the pegs were right in the way of and digging into my shins, unlike any other bike I have sat on. Otherwise a beautiful piece of machinery.

Motorad is doing several `feed your restless` commercials. Ive seen one featuring the s1000rr, another with a couple of tourers, one with the GS`s, and the mentioned nineT. Generally ive seen them all while watching motoGP or some other bike racing. I like them more than yammys commercial for the FZ09...
