Rick's Rendezvous 2013, May 15-19, Hampton, TN

Glad to see this going again. I was riding the Kickstart Classic ride on the BRP last May when I bumped into a few of you FFs while waiting for a flag man. The Kickstart was bound for Wilkesboro for the night, and I was jealous of all ya'lls. Considered sneakin' away that night to visit, but it turned out not practical.

This spring I am considering a Michigan UP ride by way of the Eastern mountains, so maybe I can coordinate it so I can at least drop by for one night and meet some of ya'll. Looks like Kickstart will be down here in FL this spring. Not sure of the date, but I kinda gotta go (business thingie). But if that don't interfere, maybe I'll make it up.

oser Liquor store in Hampton?

Currently, Carter County has "Likker by the drink" but no liquor stores. The closest place to buy liquor and wine (wine is sold in liquor stores in TN) is in south Johnson City at the corner of University Parkway and S. Roan Street. Take US321to Johnson City and take the first left after you cross I -26.

But voters did approve the referendum in November allowing taxed likker by the bottle. The local politicians never thought it would pass so they are still working on the ordinace to regulate liquor stores. There might be one by May.

Then again, I can be bribed to stop and do your shopping on my way to Hampton.

We're gonna need a bigger boat.

Mom is doing great. She's grouchy because my sister and I are telling her she can't drive herself to her appointments this week. Well that and she is trying to stop smoking.

The 1 Stop now has a competing likker store across the street. It has a better selection of wine - according to my sister.
