WTG Randy! :1drinkHope it lasts a long time.

Just don't end up on Judge Judy with the ex trying to get her bike or money back. :D Saw something similar this week where a dude bought his girlfriend a car.

    Yeah, weird ain't it? :clap

But, seriously, I love her more than life itself. Always did... all these last 30 years. And she knows it. And, I am actually a pretty good guy, if I do say so myself! And she knows that too! :D

I am very fortunate though, and I don't take it for granted at all!

Sorry, Randy, that was my first thought, too.

    Congrats.

    On both!

BTW, I got no room to talk...

A Mad Max style ( and I don't mean fake beat up and flat black piece of shit) motorcycle. A Jim Goose replica kawi 1000?

Hry, Eets-What year Laverda is that? I'm trying to decide if I'm old enough to remember when it was new.

1974 SFC. For sale right now and only £ 32,000. This later model 1998 Laverda 68 is a little more in my price range at only £1800. [IMG]

Whoa, just rewatched Mad Max last night and saw the real Goose bike doing it's thing.
And you show a pic of a modern faux Goose bike !
Mad Max and the Road Warrior movies are time capsules of the '70s. Faking by dressing up a retro bike = fail !
A beat up , flat black piece of shit based on '73 to '76 900 Kawasaki would be far more realistic than your example.

I know I can't believe I missed that. Shame on me.
A side note to Mad Max: The version they showed this weekend on AMC is the original Australian version. For years the version we got in North America was redubbed with American voice actors-you can see how they sometimes don't quite sync up becasue they use different phrases like "we gone".

Toe Cutter sounds less like a cartoon characture and more like a professor in the Auzzie version! Same thing with Fifi.

You know, if that F8GT had better fuel capacity/range, it could fall into the "one bike" category.

I'm more worried about reliability and maintenance issues. And I've heard the engine is a little blah. Haven't ridden one since the 800ST came out. A lot of potential, though...

Yeah, I have all of the movies on DVD (even Thunderdome :rolleyes), and prefer to watch them in the original dialect. It isn't that much more difficult for us Yanks to understand, and really adds to the movies.

The engine is good to go. I like it. Has great midrange punch and decent bottom end.

Maint./Reliability is mostly fixed on the later year F800s (after 2009ish). The big issues with the bikes prior to that were the stator burning up (around 30 or 40k miles) and random failures of the rear axle bearings which IMO was being caused by a way to tight belt spec by BMW. The stator was fixed with a redesigned stator and rotor which helped with cooling which was what was causing the stator failures. The rear wheel bearings were fixed with redesigned bearings I think.

As long as they carried over the "fixes" to the GT model it should be good to go.
