I did it. I crossed over to the Dark Side! I just picked up this sweet sport touring bike, and already I am working on my first thousand miles! I have ridden her in the rain, snow and a Sandstorm in the desert; and that was all just on Monday! I can now see what all of the hype is about. This bike is more than I had hoped it would be.:deal

They're great bikes. I pulled 10,000 miles in thirty days on a red '98 last summer. I regret trading it now. Enjoy the new ride!

I sure am happy with mine so far! I love cruising in the sweet spot at 80mph. Motor just purring, wind just gently carressing me, and miles just clicking by.:pynd I cant wait to take my first cross country trip on her!

What's "dark side" about a red VFR with motorcycle tires at both ends?

Welcome to the dark side. You're obviously not one of the sheeple who just blindly believes the obvious propaganda of the greedy bastards in the motorcycle tire industry. They don't want you know the truth!

I'm surprised no one has said:

NOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

yet! :lol3

Nah - nice bike, always liked the viffers but hated the v-tec of the later models. Such a shame Honda went a made the VFR1200 so damn big and heavy and with such a crap fuel range. The one you have is much nicer IMHO! They should make a real VFR800 replacement that actually is 800cc in size and with no v-tec. Give it shaft drive and abs but make it light and nimble. Would be a great bike!

Great bike. I had a VFR800 for a couple years and loved it.

And "going to the dark side" around here means that you're running a car tire on the back. If you just buy a sport-touring bike, you say, "I'm boring" or "I'm getting old" or "I've given up on the dream of buying a BMW 1000RR." :D

Ride on!!!

Shoot! Now that I have a sport touring bike I just picked up a smoking hot brunette passenger. Guess that is what happens with a bigger seat and a lot less bumps on the journey.:deal

Seriously love this bike though. I am already needing to look into new tires since I have ripped appart the ones that came on her. Something about Chicken Stripes?! :huh I dont know.

I posted my new to me VFR when I got it last year. Here is what it looked like then:

Just finished installing re-worked forks and shock from Jaime and powder coated the wheels. Of course had to add a rear 8 spoke to remind me of my 1992 VFR 750. Here is what it looks like now:

Looks great. I hope you like cleaning wheels...

Let us know how you like the suspension. Jamie is from Daugherty Motorsports, right? They're on my short list to upgrade the bouncy bits on my '95. I'm not looking for race track performance, but something that will be stable and predictable in the twisties and not bash the crap out of me and the bike on washboard roads like it does now.

I had white wheels on a cbr 900 rr before, just sayin I have a few cans of pledge!
The suspension was redone by http://www.daughertymotorsports.com/
and it is the shit. The original stuff was bouncing all over the place making the bike almost unbearable. Thanks again Jaime!
Yea Northern Colorado is one of the best places to ride I have ever lived. The dirt is great too.

Hey guys, one of my tail-light lightbulbs is out, but only if they brakes AREN'T depressed. Do I need a new bulb, or is there a loose wire/toasted fuse?
