Revelstoker's straps are protected from heat of the exhaust by a rack mount. I used a hook from an old tie-down strap, looped the strap through the hook, and hooked it on the footrest bracket exactly like Revelstoker did. This moved the strap well away from the bend in the exhaust.

Coyote on the 640 with a 1200 Pelican box mounted on the rack behind the bag. Fender hooks were removed rom the bag, and the straps simply looped through the rear rack.

    2001 640 adventure.

Lost my headlights today on the way to work. They worked just fine in the garage.

I know it's a fuse. So to save time and frustration, which one?

Under the dash? Or under the seat?

    TIA

The last time I lost my headlights it was due to a broken off terminal inside the ignition key switch...

I'm looking for a side stand for my 2006 LC4 Adv.
Who can tell me which one will fit my model 100%?
p.s. I want to use it with center stand, not instead of it.

    Champ,
On my '02 one of 3 fuses under the dash, check them all, on mine the dash mounting bracket was razor sharp and cut into the fuse wire grounding and killing the lights or causing them to flicker.

A quick file job and a couple of pieces of tape solved the problem of the sharp edge.

    Ohh thanks for the info!
But still, I have a question:
I've heard about the issue that for some models of Adv it restraints the movement of the kickstarter. What can you say about it? How does the kickstarter work with this side stand?

    Fixed it Thanks Bill.

It was under the dash. The fuse never blew I think water got into it long ago and it finally corroded away. I have a picture but can't figure out how to attach using my iPhone.

For my '05 the kickstarter only "works" if the sidestand is in the up position.

Does anybody have any idea about this?

If I stall it, then all the instruments go blank, it seems like there is no power, no lights, no turn signal, nothing. But it starts for the first kick, and electrocity is back imediately - lights, speedo, rev gauge, everything. And they are on good power then - driven from the battery imo.

Last time I've stalled it at home just to make it easier to diagnose.. Pulled off the tank + fairings, moved all the cables, and still power didn't come back.. Where should I start looking at?

If it is running, charging voltage is 14.4V, battery has 13.3V in it, but when it has this wierd power off issue mentioned above, multimeter displays 0.0V in the battery.

Maybe the whole thing isn't related to the stalling though.
