    hey guys.
I just finished installing the TT WP kit on my 01 gs (not dakar) and boy does it feel good.
Of course, the center stand i had is just useless now but i'm wondering if anyone was able to modify one of use a dakar one with success. Seems to me that in order to work the two legs would need to go way out towards the rear swing arm. From staking 2x6 under the stand, it seems like i would need 3inch extensions...

Id get rid of it but i live in the city and roadside maintenance if a reality most of the time, our bike lift is a one hour ride from my flat, which is just a tad long to oil my chain.

    any help greatly appreciated !

Tess, it's a Supertrapp. It's a bit loud, ESP when firing up in your townhome community but it w/a drop in gearing really add to the torque/pickup. I may play w/another exhaust just because I can't swap my Wolfman racks from bike to bike ( pipes wider) unless I modify the rack.

    **Update**
Broke my exhaust hanger and retainer and exhaust blew off on Fwy in Baja. Ended up putting on a GPR exhaust for my model and it rocks. Fits my Wolfman rack/bags w/ease as well.

It's just Krylon Flat Black (plastic paint), and I had the new reflective stickers made. Only real work is the heat gun to get off OEM stickers and then the sanding. I didn't spend any time researching wraps. So if for some reason you want to keep it to OEM and resell later, that might be an option, but the flat black is awesome and I just touch it up after drops if needed.

I customized my wolfmen racks so they would work with a pipe set up like that.

Some may remember my writeup about the "Trofeo Kit" (Steel Touratech rear subframe, KTM Fairing, custom made seat, Titanium race exhaust).

I got some new eye Candy.

Modified Touratech Aluminium Subframe based on the Oryx Aluminium subframe with 17 liters TT rear Tank (+12 Liters underseat) plus seat from the Oryx.
Seems like a custom job (not sure if done by TT or someone else), the seat obviously will not bolt right on this setup-

In case the price is right, I will buy it and get you some more details, once it arrives.

    Hi everyone!

I have the possibility to get my hands on a set of Yamaha YZ400F forks + triple clamp from 1999, but are unsure if they would suffice for the Dakar conversion...
The -99 YZ400 dry weight is stated to be 104kg and the -06 Dakar weighs 177kg dry. Its clear to me I´ll have to change springs and oil, but were the forks that good in -99 or should I wait for something newer?

My other option is a fork + triple clamp from a KTM 625 sxc -05, but then I have to turn down the stem a bit to fit the BMW bearings...

    Please help me choose :confused
