On May 31, Alaskan Highway, I came upon a woman stranded on a sick 800GS in the Yukon, (Coord. 62.47763, -140.86613). She was Canadian, and needed help getting back to the Canadian Customs office to arrange a "rescue" from there. I had bought a tow strap from Aerostich before the trip, but had never used one. She had an unused tow strap as well, and had read up on the proper technique. It was good that we had two straps, because either one would have been a bit short for comfort. We connected them together, and wrapped one end around the footpeg on each bike. Then we eased forward while putting our weight on the pegs to keep connected. If something starts to go south, either person can lift your foot, and you're free. It took a couple of tries to get it right, but I was able to tow her 2-3 miles to Customs while she held a little rear brake to keep tension. (Actually, a bit too much brake, as my bike was running pretty hot while pulling hard at 4mph.) The only video I have is a tiny image in the mirror. I do have a photo of her & her bike after it was over. I'll try to get it from home tonight. Maybe somebody here knows her.
