Some textile riding jackets are pretty handsome. You just can't buy cheapo ones like Joe Rocket or BiLt if you don't want to look like a doofus. Alpinestars makes some great looking riding jackets that have plenty of armor in the right places. Problem? They are usually around $300 for just the jacket. Textile overpants -- well...those always look ridiculous. I have seen some good looking leather riding pants that aren't super tight.

Of course, you simply can't beat leather for looking the best. Problem is, leather overpants don't really exist. There are chaps, but those are only OK if you don't plan on falling on your ass since there is no protection there. Lots of handsome leather jackets with shoulder/elbow/etc armor built in out there. Even cheap leather is better than most textile for abrasion resistance.

Where cheap build quality will fail is at the seems, so buyer beware.

Do you have a local Cycle Gear? Go look thoroughly at their stock. Shop online at places like "motorcyclegear.com.

Any word on whether he was sporting assless chaps, fingerless gloves and a get back whip?

Loud pipes and ABS probably could have prevented this unfortunate incident.

    What a ma-roon!
