    If you didn't eat dinner at Reata in Alpine, you missed out.

    I'll second Trices comments about Riata in Alpine. Ive eaten there a few times; never been disappointed. Don't know about dentists in that area. Last Mexican dentist I used was in Puerto Vallarta. should be some good ones around Acuna/Del Rio. Not sure about Ojinaga/Presidio.

    Kurt, did you happen to wave to an extremely sweaty guy on a 2002 Dakar yesterday? If so, that was me. I crossed paths with a black and silver 1200 between catemaco and coatzocoalcos.

    VERY IMPORTANT WARNING FOR THOSE PLANNING TO GO TO MEXICO:

    'chorizo' = hotdogs

    This one piece of information will help you avoid the pain and anguish of receiving a meal that doesn't look anything like you expected it to.

    Well, I've been married to one for 19 years. LOL!
    Dentist and Orthodontist, certified in both. What do you need? And define "inexpensive".

    I was hoping to hear from that somone on this board that has experience with going to Mexico and using a dentist across the border. No time for a longer trip into Mexico or Guatemala this time so someone within a days (2 days) riding distance from Alpine, Texas would be best.

    Maybe ask someone around Alpine or Marfa or Presidio.

    Milton the dentist may be riding in your area.

    Here's a photo to help identify him:

    One of the last minute items I had to take care of before leaving was the registration on the bike expires in June so yesterday I hoofed it on over to the DMV and got a new tag. What I'd overlooked was they keep the current official registration and give you a yellow copy of the application for the new one. The new one will arrive in 3-4 weeks which ordinarily wouldn't be a problem and maybe it isn't this time but my question is this: If I get stopped for some piddly-assed reason will the Mexican cops use that as an excuse to pump up the mordida? Not wanting to sound paranoid but from what I've read on this thread some of them like to use any old reason to screw with riders. The obvious fix would be to hang around here until the new registration arrives. What say you?

    You will either get your TVIP at the border or have to produce the original registration. A title works too if you have it. Once you get into Mexico, all they will ever ask for is your TVIP. In Texas, the registration is called a "registration renewal receipt." As long as it shows you as the owner and has the VIN# and looks official, you should be OK. My dos centavos.

    That's great, I've got the title as well as the temp registration so it sounds like all is well. Thanks for your dos centavos. LL

    This one is in Creel - I bet he's inexpensive... (well, you can't have everything right?). You can always grab a getaway horse or jump a passing train if you need to get outta there in a hurry.

    Not my photo, but one from a dentist friend who's been riding down there.

    As far as dentists go there's plenty in Monterrey. This takes the pain away ...
